Intel Core i7-8700K Desktop Processor 6 Cores up to 4.7GHz Turbo Unlocked LGA1151 300 Series 95W

    • The MB is a GIGABYTE Z370 AORUS Gaming 5 with 16 GB RAM and a Cooler Master Hyper RR-212E-20PK-R2 LED CPU cooler
    • I'm sure with overclocking that would change, and I'll probably get a more capable cooler for when I do (eventually) decide to overclock but air cooled temperatures, even with a relatively cheap air cooler are perfectly fine.
    • Runs cool (liquid cooled).
    • but with a decent cooler you should be maintaining around 38 Celsius at idle and no more then 75 under load
    • Excellent processorEasy to overclockVery fast for realistic workloads as well as benchmarksThermals are very controllable with proper cooler
    • This thing is a beast, especially mated with a good cooler.
    • Paired with a powerful bequiet air cooler, most of the time runs at 25 celsius
    • There is also the fact you will probably have to invest in a fairly good cooler which adds to the cost to the item - in my case I spent 150 dollars for the x62 raising the cost from 370 to 520 USD
    • Just be sure you have superb CPU cooling
    • Zalman ATX Mid Tower Case R1 (Nice looking case, provides room for everything, adequate cooling and allows good cable management).2
    • Very hot you need to make sure you have a good cooling set up
    • but on a cheap aftermarket cooler it was up to 5.6ghz.
    • Very good cpu, If you don't have the right cooling for it it will be too hot for your
    • A powerful cooler or a delid is a must, especially if overclocking, to maintain comfortable temps
    • I'm sure with overclocking that would change, and I'll probably get a more capable cooler for when I do (eventually) decide to overclock but air cooled temperatures, even with a relatively cheap air cooler are perfectly fine.
    • I do recommend a good air cooler if not OCing with high quailty paste-
    • The I7 8700 is able to officially turbo to 4.3 GHz on all 6 cores and with sufficient cooling can do that all day long.
    • run warm so get a good cooler
    • Auto over clocked and stable at 4.7 with sufficient liquid cooling.
    • Very nice CPU, but as been stated many times - CPU can get hot....so above adequate cooling is needed especially when overclocking
    • (A good quality cooler is a must).-6 cores/12 threads is no slouch for content creators & productivity either.-Will be a viable CPU for many years to come
    • so I suggest either delidding it for crazy good temps with conductonaut but ruined warranty, a really good air cooler, or (the best one of them all for those who don't want to maintain their loop a lot
    • when its chugging im sure you would prefer a liquid cooler.
    • base clocked it at 4.5 Ghz , i have gone to 5.0 Ghz but it makes my Cryorig C7( Cpu Fan ) go full blast , you can definitely go way above this with the right cooling, highly recommended!
