However, I recently noticed that the very bright green light had gone out, probably after a recent storm outage, so I replaced it.

The bright green light is very nice and noticeable letting me know it's working

The protector's indicator light remained bright green, indicating continued protection.

Anyway, the awesomely bright green LED came on once everything was buttoned up and I flipped the breaker on,

Again, NOTHING was damaged and the indicator remains a confidence-inspiring bright green.

The installation was proper, 6 inch max length leads at the panelboard or service entry.

Arrived promtly , the installation was super easy and clear , you need to have some basic electricity knowledge in order to make the installation properly and safely

It came with instructions and I used two free circuit breakers to connect it

The warnings about not piggybacking off of high draw or sensitive circuits concerned me, so I added a double pole 20 amp breaker

This is sort of a middle of the road model, with lesser priced ones offering only 3 way protection while this one is 6 way (protection between line 1 and line 2, line 1 to neutral, line 1 to ground, line 2 to neutral, line 2 to ground, and neutral to ground) and more expensive models providing phone and cable TV protection I don't need

If you are comfortable working inside an electrical panel, this takes about 20 minutes to install

Not sure how to tell if it helps, I guess if I stop seeing dead electronics devices after 5 or 6 months

but I am hoping that it will protect my electrical devices.

We didn’t lose a single appliance

The resulting surge voltage damaged several appliances, fluorescent bulbs and fixtures, and EVERY surge protector in the house

We had not electronic damage, the neighbor across the street lost all electronics.

Hopfully I will never need another one but for the cost it is well worth saving your sensitive electronic

This should protect our electronics should we take a strike.

I figure that it protected items in the house from a powerful surge

I've never suffered from any devastating surge, but for the price, I decided that it's cheap insurance for all the electronics and appliances in the house.

only problem is you don't really know if it's working other than not having surges that destroy things , so it's safe to say they/ this works , i had an older unit that had been installed for16 years and never had anything damaged by a surge or lightening and i get lots of close strikes around my house .

I have yet to see a negative review stating that someone had this device installed, yet suffered the consequences of a lightning strike or surge spike

I keep an extra one in the basement in preparation for the next potential lightning strike.

I must assume that I'm ready for the next lightning strike that happens so often with our Phoenix AZ area summer monsoons
