The external speaker I use is from JBL I think, but even my girlfriend's cheap iHome speaker (a dinky portable thing) sounds better than the built in sound

One speaker broke in a matter of months.

We added stereo speakers since this has the limited though historically accurate turntable sound

I have heard other tables with built in speakers that sound tinny and a little garbled, but the speakers on this table are decent speakers.

It's well made, does what it should, but, the quality of sound is not good, its over 25 years since I listened to vinyl records, but, it was on a really good system with amazing speakers, and apparently my ears remember, as I cannot get past the cheap tinny sound of these speakers

Maybe this turntable would be better with nicer speakers but that defeats a lot of the selling factor.

(I thought that if the speakers were horrible, then I'd have to purchase new speakers anyway, so why not buy an Audio Technica?

The poor speaker quality does not affect the quality of the MP3 sound, so don't worry about that!Build quality is somewhere in the middle of our modern spectrum

As for the sound, the two speakers are nice and sound good where I use my player: in a small/medium bedroom

Nonetheless, it won't hurt your vinyl and the tiny little speakers that come with it are actually decent to listen through if you're an insomniac like me and don't want to wake the house.

We LOVED the way this look and liked the idea of built in speakers, but when it arrived we noticed that one speaker was working.

A speaker is partially out , I need to flick the speaker for it to work, I am going to have to rewire it .
