iRobot Roomba 690 Robot Vacuum with Wi-Fi Connectivity, Works with Alexa, Good for Pet Hair, Carpets, Hard Floors

    • It also detects cliffs where there clearly isn't one, just a rug with dark coloring
    • Clean up debris (I saw it miss on light colored hard floors if that helps anyone) 2
    • -It is pretty good at avoiding running headlong into things, but darker color objects seem to be tougher for it to recognize.-Not useful on any carpet, except possibly some very thin runners.-I wish it could map the apartment and do it's cleaning in a more organized
    • But if you have dark colored carpets be ready to constantly get up to move the roomba once it gets stuck due to the fact that it thinks its about to hit a cliff.
    • Despite the nice video and claims made by them, this item will not go onto even very thin rugs if they have a dark colored border
    • We also found the 690 refusing to vacuum the area rugs because the black or dark blue color in the rug set off the cliff detector so it refused to vacuum those areas
    • I think dark colors might throw the Roomba off so beware
    • Roomba support told me that there is no setting in software to turn off the cliff detector so no way the 690 will allow itself to vacuum any dark colored rugs
    • Because of my darker color flooring, it was easily to spot dirt and especially having two cats.
    • Also, it doesn't "see" dark colors
    • I have always had an issue were it will not clean my area rug because of the dark colors which it thinks is a cliff
    • Loud on my apartment's cheap-o wooden floors (bothers the person under me), but that's their problem, not mine!
    • I’m very happy with this purchase it’s been a o helpful easy to clean out and quick set a timer
