I didn't think the Roomba would take 2 full running cycles to clean the floors of areas that are not that large

My sister loved my Roomba, so I gave her this new model for her birthday.

In my opinion, with the quirks and possible defects listed below, at least for me, the Roomba hardly makes life easier when it comes to keeping floors clean.

Would suggest spending the extra $300 for a :smart Roomba

The good news is the, the Roomba is really great at picking up debris and dirt, even when in high traffic areas, the bad news is, that the Roomba's bin just can't carry that much, so the whole turn it on and leave, or start it's cleaning cycle remotely from work, wouldn't really work for these rooms as someone would need to be there to empty the bin

The Roomba simply did not clean any of that dusty residue and in many parts of the house it did not clean various easy to get to areas with obvious dirt at all.

The Roomba is pricey when compared to other vacuums, but does what other vacuums won't do without my constant attention... vacuums

The Roomba 890 is significantly quieter than other robo-vacuums that I have owned.

Also, the roomba is slower than if you vacuumed yourself...but the bonus will be that you won't have to vacuum

And most of all, if it's worth saving the money to get the more expensive iRobot Roomba

It is by far the neediest roomba of them all

I watched the Roomba transition easily over thresholds between flooring and transitioned onto and off of rugs really well.

The Roomba was very easy to set up, simply put the base somewhere that has good Wi-Fi reception, and offers about 2 foot of clearance on the sides and in front

I think this Roomba does very well; however, if you have a long haired dog running through the house, you will likely have problems like clumps of fur left behind.

We were surprised as to how little the regular vacuum picked up this weekend!The Roomba was definitely helpful with the golden retriever, but there has definitely been a significant improvement now that the Roomba is not getting clogged up with long dog hair.

After removing the piece and checking that it didn't damage the Roomba, it didn't, I put the pieces back on and the vacuum went back to doing his thing

She is the owner of a golden retriever that sheds a ton, I always say it looks like tumbleweeds, well this Roomba has been a godsend, she says it works perfectly goes everywhere, and does a bang up job

The Roomba is also very good at getting out of tight spaces

But more importantly, she FREAKS out that the roomba comes after her toys (the doesn't suck up the toys - her dog toys are too big...but small lego blocks will get sucked up, so warn your kids!), so now the DOG PICKS UP HER TOYS

I might have my review removed for that subject line, but I have to say I LOVE my Roomba.

I was both horrified by the amount of dog hair the roomba was able to find, and also impress that it found that much dog hair!2) because of the style of furniture we got, the roomba was able to get under the bed, the couch, the armchair, etc...basically all the places that I only vacuum once a quarter...but it got ALL the dust bunnies (dust puppies?)!3) the roomba DOES eat cords

The Roomba did not clean my entire home in one session, but each area that it cleaned was cleaned quite well

Moving from HK to US we decided to change to a new machine (different power supply), we still love Roomba

We have normal furniture--couch, coffee table, recliner, side tables, dining room table w/chairs and the Roomba seems to struggle, it also will not do a full upstairs clean and rarely even goes down the hall and into our bedroom or the office.

I will still need to do a deep vacuum manually at least once a month as the Roomba isn't great with the corners, but I still see it as a time saver for me

After a week I can turn the Roomba loose on all 2000 sq feet.

Obviously not the Roomba's fault...but just a tip!

However...one tip - if you have big dogs you may want to do it when someone is home because twice they've pooped on the floor and I've had to come home and clean the entire floor & baseboards, as well as the Roomba!

The cheaper Roomba 890 doesn't do that
