iRobot Roomba 980 Robot Vacuum with Wi-Fi Connectivity, Works with Alexa, Ideal for Pet Hair, Carpets, Hard Floors

    • A real-time map and work in progress is missing but would be fine
    • so it takes a long time to clean the entire
    • Love it Does get confused as to home base some times by does great job.
    • I've noted that it almost always gets free, but in the process of doing so can waste valuable time and battery power and potentially damage the fringe.
    • Overall, I have to say, I'm very pleased, frees up my time, works on the schedule when we are not home
    • And I suppose the time required to vacuum and the battery life might improve with additional charges and sessions
    • After enough time (3+ hours), started it.
    • This is enough time to clean all of the main rooms in my home- wherever I want it to clean.
    • It goes three times through the week and each time it is amazing how much dirt it picks up.
    • We now have the robot set to clean three times each week (generally while we're out running chores), and are very pleased with it's performance
    • On the negative side, I found it to be very loud and had a hard time finding a time to to set it to run for 3+ hours when we weren’t here.
    • so overall, floor stays clean all the time
    • Another improvement would be a means of storing an alternate battery in the base that could charge while the other is in use allowing the robot to swap them out to reduce overall cleaning time (more stuff to break
    • Three times of picking it up and putting it back home is completely worth not having to vacuum everywhere by myself every day!DOG FUR:
    • Good times!
    • such a time saver when you have small kids and dogs that shed
    • Like others experienced, it did get stuck a few times (once in a corner and another, trying to get out from the treadmill when the baby had pushed a roller table to close to the exit.
    • The set up was super easy and I can schedule certain times of the day to clean or activate him from my phone
    • Overall this device performs great, saves time (if you don't particularly enjoy vacuuming and picking up the floor).
    • Now we only break out the big guy (Dyson ball) about 2 times per month.
    • And now that under the furniture is getting cleaned every time the rest of the floor is there seems to be less dust on top of the tables and furniture!
    • App tells you the maintenance schedule and when things need to be replacedCustomer SupportEasily cleanableSurprisingly good run time for both battery and dust binCons:App needs a heap of workLogic flaws in cleaning methodGets stuck too easilyThey need to either include more lighthouses or drop the price of them/limited in range of virtual wall to 10ftNo true cloud connectivity, only one device can administer the botAuto performance mode doesn't always workBackground:2 dogs, Great Dane and a German Shepherd2000 square foot ranch home, 3 bed, 2 bath.
    • I think there is a problem with a battery, as many times I would manually start it after it has been charging for hours and it would work for few minutes and completely die and after I took it to its base the app showed (on the two Roombas that could connect) that it was fully charged.
    • Displeased with iRobot customer service (please don't waste my time requesting redundant info, demanding whether I registered, or patronizing me
    • this one can get noisy at times, specially with the carpet boost feature, but since I can schedule a cleaning time, I usually do it when no one is
    • Truly I pull out our old Dyson maybe 3 times a year, and the dustbuster for one-off clean ups
    • Roomba 980 worked about an hour, then started saying 'Code 10L' Did all recommendations suggested several times
    • The run time on the battery is very good, too
    • Neato cleaned my whole house every time and returned to base when it's done
    • Going under the bed 3 different times where it actually did do grid cleaning already
    • It took a LONG time to clean my small 2-bed 1K sq ft apartment, and would run out of charge before
    • This must've happened 20 times before I got angry and just moved the fan to the basement where Roomba doesn't go.
    • Since the Roomba 960 has a lower battery power it is requiring an additional charging cycle which then totals the cleaning time up to 6h
    • We have had one of these for about 4 months and it has been enough time to see the pros and cons of this vacuum
    • The very first time I used it, it died and I had to carry it back to home base
    • It also has a difficult time with pet hair
    • My biggest complaint is the time it takes Roomba to vacuum my upstairs
    • I almost get trash bin full error every time the roomba starts cleaning (in average, abort task in about 30-40 minutes) even when the trash bin is empty
    • /how long it charges vs being forced to cancel it if 90 minutes later isn't a good time
    • Takes a long time to clean the 1st floor especially with edge clean on
    • Often times she missed whole sections of the house, particularly the bedrooms because of a long hallway leading to them.
    • It is expensive but my time is worth money
    • But the more times it cleaned the quicker it got and no longer required emptying the bin during cleaning
    • Sure it's running for the 120 minutes but it will go over the same area 20 time and then miss whole sections
    • We are hoping she is on the job for a good long time.
    • Across 4 full cleanings of my first floor, Ive cleaned the unit 4 times, replaced the filter 3 times, and reset the unit 3 times.
    • So many times I was tempted to get one of these fancy vacuum cleaning robots, but I never had the opportunity to use one until one
    • You can schedule cleaning times and start the device from your smartphone, on or off your WiFi network.
    • Roomba cleans the whole house 1-2 times a week and I am very pleased with the quality of clean.
    • using my phone, I schedule when I want it to clean, (3 times a week) and it zips through my 1600 sq foot upstairs, like a trooper
    • Works well but has had a hard time figuring out the layout of our home
    • The cloud cannot talk to Roomba", "Roomba is stuck", "Cloud not available", "Cleaning job ended", get ready for an error every time you use this thing
    • Comparable to the BVC.-Auto carpet boost worked flawlessly and is efficient.-Good run times of around an hour and half with carpet boost on auto.
    • Each time this happened I would get an error and had to go clear out the roller
    • Fernando is scheduled to clean three times a week and clean he does.
    • it's clean time but have to go and manually press the Clean button.
    • Even though she has a camera built in, she still gets stuck more than I would have thought and after pressing the dock button when close to the home base, she has a hard time finding it
    • Neato uses a laser system and at times seemed confused and went over some areas three times which caused a longer clean time
    • A definite time saver for me.
    • it would be great if there was a receptacle where the roomba could empty its own bin in order to continue to sweep.- if the low power setting was available to be used other than when you're going out of town; ie - it can be on low-power during non-routine cleaning times, but you can activate it back to regular power/switch it back on with the app if you want it to do a one-off action- being able to navigate around wires would be awesome.
    • So I am hoping that next couple times it will run faster finding less dirt and knowing the house layout, take more direct paths
    • The filter also needs blow out with air almost every time too if you have an air blower which I do.
    • It runs for about 100 minutes and then needs to re-charge, which is usually a good time to empty the waste bin
    • I decided this was a good time to take it apart and see what's under the hood, but as I started to take it
    • This Roomba 980 practically never actually hits anything and if it does hit it, there is a good chance it will remember the object is there next time it comes around and won't hit it a second time that run
    • We easily move it to other rooms when desired and same tape has been working each time
    • Empty dust bind, clear (human) hair from rollers, & give sensors a wipe after every use & it will run like a champ every time.
    • had.10 times better!Especially on my carpeted floor
    • The small dustbin fills up quickly, the first time around, and will cry out that it needs changing
    • My floors are consistently clean and over one hundred hours of cleaning time has vanished from my schedule this year by having this vacuum.
    • While i appreciate the time and effort of those users who point out ways could be better- for me the roomba is absolutely a lifesaver.
    • It does seem like it goes over the same area multiple times, especially in the room where the base is.
    • You can check on your Roomba® 980 as well as schedule cleaning times, pause or end a cleaning, or send the Roomba home
    • We clean the entire house 3 times a week, and my experience with the 980 is that once pass is plenty to do an excellent job
    • It can go a long time cleaning.
    • I spend less time cleaning now
    • It goes underneath the furniture so that super dusty area is cleaned every time
    • I have programmed Rosie to clean two times a week in the economy (quick) mode, and once a week to perform in the Automatic, Carpet Boosting Mode, and fur is now a thing of the past, with very little effort needed other than emptying the bin!
    • Doesn't seem like a long time given the price, but 1) I am happy to pay a premium for the relief of vacuuming and 2
    • I feel like her now I'm free to do so much more because I don't have to worry about cleaning all the time because iRobot Roomba does it for me
    • They utilize a "map" that keeps them from continuing to go over the same spot a dozen times which helps to ensure the entire area is cleaned
    • That way you can see what it has trouble with and fix it the fist time
    • My last Roomba iRobot Roomba 650 Vacuum Cleaning Robot for Pets worked several times a day for years
    • Both humans work full time
    • I work quite a bit and my time off is important
    • Still use it about 3 times a week, love it!
    • Of course, the first time it went under the TV stand, it got tangled on some cords
    • Other times it has spent too much time in one room, ignored a room, or gone back to the same room over and over, wearing down the battery life.
    • It spent, what I thought, was an extraordinary time under there.
    • I generally go by the reviews, ratings, but this time I was fooled by Roomba's ratings
    • I have clean floors and more time for myself
    • I clean all the sensors every time we dump the bin (which is everyday in my house since I have 3 dogs)
    • I have also seen people write negatively of the application, it clearly shows when the dust bin needs to be emptied and if the sensors need to be cleaned, shows some statics that are completely useless but neat to look at, such as cleaning time, sq ft cleaned and particularly dirty parts of the floor that it encountered.
    • I have used it 3 days in a row and each time it fills the trap up with fibers, dog hair and dirt/dust.
    • Time saving and efficient
    • Purchased this iRobot Roomba 980 from Amazon on Nov. 20, 2016.The 980 only completed a cleaning a few times
    • Your floors will just be super clean ALL THE TIME!Two things that are super
    • Having to not think about/worry about constantly cleaning has given me a lot of free time/peace of
    • but hey its worth the trade off of freeing up time not having to vacuum!worth the buy and would buy again
    • On the other hand, this is not a toy and if you don't want to spend time cleaning the floors yourself it is certainly a labour-saving device
    • Also, if it starts at an inopportune time, I can use the app to stop the cleaning and send it back to its base
    • It also features dirt detect, which means it spends a little extra time cleaning in areas it finds to
    • Also he recognized more space this time around and cleaned 594 sq ft
    • I have a wife and a one year old, as well as 3 cats, and time just slips away as I try to work on college classes and practicing coding as well as a full time software developer job
    • Require more work keeping it clean -taking more time to clean it-and even then the lights will not go out
    • But what you have to remember is that the first few times it runs, it will pick up a lot more junk.
    • the sensor has a difficult time seeing them.
    • Another improvement would be a means of storing an alternate battery in the base that could charge while the other is in use allowing the robot to swap them out to reduce overall cleaning time (more stuff to break
    • The other robots always had a hard time at my house, but this one has yet to see a problem that wasnt fixed easily
    • The first time you run this robot will not be the most efficient, as it still needs information about its surroundings to be able to determine the most efficient paths within a furnished room
    • One thing to note is the shark didn't find much else other than hair that time so the 980 does seem to dig out the finer dust from the carpet quite well
    • I have to manually wipe clean the sensors every time when this happens
    • Usually the middle of the night is an excellent time to attack your enemies
    • Each time I clean out the
    • I watch it clean and it has cleaned the same spots a few times (like leaves the room and finds it's way back to the room and cleans it again) it gets caught up on our bath mats, but had managed to get itself unstuck
    • When I check the history of this robot from the app, it shows the same error pop up several times before I bought this one.
    • The second time, I had some problems
    • , I kid you not 20 times and misses others completely.
    • This is a great vacuum but sloppy user interface that doesn’t set a ‘silent time’ so that your house can sleep.
    • Maybe Roomba was thinking that this would be the best time to attack
    • Love app and seeing map of area covered, dirt level, time, etc...
    • Even the Roomba made her nervous the first few times
    • We have used our new Roomba 980 several times now and love her.
    • I've noted that it almost always gets free, but in the process of doing so can waste valuable time and battery power and potentially damage the fringe.
    • Love it Does get confused as to home base some times by does great job.
    • Wonderful time-saver.
    • There is never enough time during the day and hence the week to vacuum.
    • If the 880 ventures too far from the base, it has a tough time finding it’s way back
    • I disliked the time it took to get the rooms vacuumed
    • This significantly cuts down on my cleaning time and is able to clean my whole downstairs in about an hr
    • I have contacted the company several times regarding different issues.
    • It cleans some areas 4-5 times and misses some other spots
    • Many times, it would get an unknown error and then restart the entire cleaning cycle rather than continuing where it left off
    • That said, there are about 4 other areas in the room that I use the Roomba in where it will get wedged multiple times per cleaning cycle still
    • One time, I had a 'falling off a cliff'
    • my kids push the buttons all the time, and it's sucked up all kinds of things, including all the four food groups.things i would improve if i had my way:1.
    • While Roomba saves me time and works a majority of the time, I have had some issues
    • After it thoroughly cleaned the house the first time the Roomba successfully cleaned my house without error thereafter
    • I mostly keep the roomba cleaning the hardwood areas, though 1 time per week I open the carpeted bedroom/closet area for it to clean
    • I've seen it stopped working several times, but that's my own fault: loose wires on the ground, clothes ...etc
    • This has been a huge life saver, as well as time saver for me
    • the app on your phone gives you after each cleaning)Day 2: He cut down the clean time massively to a more efficient 78 minutes
    • I have been using this every couple of days for the past year, and still enjoy pushing the button to start this gadget and seeing how much dust it collects every single time.
    • Put cleaning days and times on the app, and forget about it
    • I have no idea how our house gets so dirty, but we're always getting dog hair everywhere, dust, POLLEN certain times of year here in GA and grass everywhere.
    • I wonder if there’s a minimum cleaning time programmed into the machine.
    • Dont waste time on the others.
    • With the app, you can schedule cleaning times, start her cleaning remotely, select cleaning modes (one or two passes, edge clean or not, and a mode where she uses reduced power on hard floors and full power on carpets, or full power on all floors
    • Be careful though, you'll spend a lot of time watching it work when you first get one.
    • Additionally, it has a difficult time even reconnecting with its home port many days
    • Absolutely a time saver for me.
    • Another issue - any time you open the dust bin to clean it
    • Every time I clean out the bin, I am amazed at the amount of hair, sand and dander that it suctioned up
    • I can either set it from my phone or set it to automatically run at the same time everyday, I now have more free time to do other things
    • I have been using this every couple of days for the past year, and still enjoy pushing the button to start this gadget and seeing how much dust it collects every single time.
    • Per the instructions, I ran the robot multiple times over several days to "condition" my house (in other words, clean it up so the robot just maintains it)
    • It automatically switches to high power cleaning every time it encounters one of these
    • However, like a moth to a flame, it always returns to this spot, each time with the same result
    • I did a full cleaning of the house, 3 times
    • I also had trouble getting the iPhone/Wifi to connect on the first attempt but did not waste much time on that feature since I was skeptical
    • How much is your time worth to you
    • Also, it has a very hard time with tight spots or odd areas.
    • The robot seems to have figured out the lay of the land now, with less bumping and a more thoughtful and efficient pattern, I'm interested in seeing if this will equate to less cleaning time.
    • The "History" page helps you see the total time spent cleaning, the total area cleaned, and the number of jobs done at any date and time
    • One of our dogs is a Lab, and shedding has been a huge issue requiring vacuuming several times a week.
    • After a suitable time, I pushed Clean enough times go get it moving.
    • If the app would send me a text message or notify me in some other way, I could be more prompt at emptying the bin, if timing is an issue
    • I love that we can set the cleaning time and 'he' knows when to start
    • Several times I've gotten an error because it has vacuumed up a cat toy, sock, etc. that I've missed
    • time**Works much better than our regular vacuum cleaner!Best purchase and time saver ever
    • So many times new products are oversold and disappoint.
    • But it does mean that if the floor is cluttery, Roomba is going to have a hard time and may even get stuck
    • It will "hit" objects the first time is cleans a pattern of rooms but appears to learn and not ram them after a couple of cleaning cycles.
    • Great time saver.
    • I hope with enough time, they will become desensitized to the noise Marcia makes and will ride on her
    • When I get home from dropping off the kids I can go to my office and get right to work - I no longer have to spend the time cleaning up the floor after breakfast
    • Last couple of times its had a hard time re-docking, but the house has never been cleaner (mostly cause we di dnot vacuum that much before :-) )
    • Sometimes it dumps right out, but then other times dirt can get packed in there tight, and you have to sit there and pull and dig it out through a relatively narrow opening, which isn’t fun
    • It cleans my apartment 3 times a week and it gives you a notification when the dust bin is full, which is a great feature
    • Chairs, rugs, and dark rooms will add more cleaning time
    • I thought the carpets were clean and roomba would have hard time even finding dirt to pick up, boy was I wrong
    • The battery and cleaning time is exactly as described
    • The battery has died on me a few times without returning to the docking station for a recharge which is concerning but over all we are happy with it.
    • (once every 5 years, I might move furniture and vacuum under and behind). It goes slow, and I think that's the secret to a thorough cleaning it spends enough time over the air to agitate and suck up the dust it shakes loose
    • No longer have to waste time on vacuuming
    • The ONLY problem we have had is keeping her connected via wifi, seems we have to reconnect her every single day, sometimes 2 -3 times a day.
    • I have lots of free time now
    • It cuts doing on cleaning time dramatically in that I don't have to vacuum.
    • I hope that time will make me even happier with the 980 as it grows a better success rate and I get to see how it handles more of life in our house.
    • It cleans some areas 4-5 times and misses some other spots
    • I have been able to resolve this issue so far, by using an powered air to clean it out, sometimes 2 or 4 times.
    • When you have a life that feels so busy that every minute you get back counts, this little guy is saving me precious time every weekend that I really do need
    • I have contacted the company several times regarding different issues.
    • n’t take 6hours to fully clean my 2 bedroom home
    • n’t had the 980 clog like that yet
    • and NOW THEY WON"T RESPOND, because it's
    • n’t want to be blowing this stuff in your house or garage
    • n’t work at all
    • Stan cleans every M-W-F at 9 a.m. as scheduled.
