IsoAcoustics ISO-L8R155 Medium Acoustic Isolation Stands (pair)

    • I had recently invested in a pair of PSB Imagine XB speakers to upgrade my desktop setup from some aging (crappy) speakers
    • The IsoAcoustics made them my FAVORITE speakers
    • Subwoofer - 120 Watts RMS (GREAT speakers by the way) and was fairly happy with them
    • I use these to support my book shelf speakers with a slight tilt up in front
    • The speakers are amazing by
    • These are great for isolating your speakers from your desk.
    • There's not a whole lot to them materials-wise, but I will say that they do a fine job of isolation the speaker from my desk where they sit
    • It's about the know-how that went into the design and manufacture of these things to effectively isolate your speakers so that the sound coming out of them isn't absorbed or colored by anything else until it reaches your ears
    • I think your mileage may vary based on your current setup, but I really recommend these stand for smallish speakers
    • As a result, I do not trust them very much and I worry that my speakers might collapse if the table is bumped or shifted.
    • The speakers sound so much brighter on these stands and the midbass has a lot more punch
    • Before I got the stands, I had the speakers on books, which do insulate well, but not enough
    • The sound has tightened up a lot especially the bass which does happen once you lift the speakers away from the surface and isolate the vibrations
    • They were already among the best speakers I've owned, which have included full range electrostatics, floor-to-ceiling line arrays and other esoterica
    • After I added the stands they sounded much more like floor standing speakers
    • The person who returned the stands obviously did not know what s/he is missing... perhaps a not so good speaker
    • Even though I have nice speakers (B&W 686), I was never completely happy with their sound unless I was standing in line with the tweeter
    • The bass is less boomy because it is not resonating through the furniture (this might take some getting used to, but convince yourself that it is more 'faithful').Walking round NAMM looking at different companies demoing all sorts of audio gadgets, many of them were using some kind of speaker isolation (some were using isol8trs) so the pro's obviously feel it is a good thing to isolate your speakers
    • Mostly because I think the Sierra's are much better speakers
    • Greatly improved my speakers
    • Very nice speaker stands and I love the simple technology of minimizing the amount of vibration absorbed by whatever the speaker is sitting on
    • I purchased these to support my Vanatoo Transparent Ones powered speakers
    • This doesn't affect the functionality or anything, but since my speakers are pretty close to the straight line of my monitor, it's really obvious looking at it that both speakers are slightly crooked
    • Before I added the stands my Athena's sounded like nice bookshelf speakers
    • They make an already awesome speaker sound even better.
    • Product was quickly delivered and technically does what it is supposed to do, which is to isolate the speaker from my desk so that the sound is not "colored" by an interaction with the desk.
    • I had previously owned (notwithstanding these speakers' stunning other qualities, the general lack of detail in <250Hz timbres stands in relation to the Rokit5G3's)
    • In this instance, you take a incredibly great speaker and elevate it to another insane audiophile level
