I find that if I compress the phone with a pinch and put them in my ears and hold them while the foam expands, I get a perfect fit that is comfortable for hours on end

You squeeze and compress the foam plugs put them in your ear and they expand for a perfect fit

The foam swells around the canal to close off the opening well and provides a good, tight fit.

With a poor fit they do not block loud noise very well.

The Foam earplug inserts worked for about a month until (like most foam earplugs), the foam's sponge-factor lost it's memory and became too difficult to compress long enough for a proper-fit, but the silicone eartips continued to last

You have to completely deform the fit of the buds to cram them in.

Broke as I was getting them unpacked ear bud fell right off.. sending them back to amazon for refund
