(although I don't think that had anything to do with it :) it made a loud pop and now only makes a humming noise when you turn it on.

I can deal with the tinny-no base speakers, but the player puts off a loud clicking noise as it plays that is very annoying.

Even with the brand new records, there is a dull white noise in the background, but it's barely noticeable and doesn't bother us at all
