The MP3s encoded from the record player are at 128Kbps, and I don't see any options to change that, and the volume is very low (you can boost it on your PC after, but then you get a horrendous background noise) so the best bet seems to be to use the RCA jacks again to output the audio to your PC and then record using Audacity or the like at whatever bitrate and format you want
