Tone-wise, the distortion has a very fat/thick texture, yet also a nicely-rounded attack to it (when the gain is low, think 1970's heavy)
-
I use this with a Blackstar amp that has a crappy distortion channel
-
I got this one because i heard the hype about it, and about the OCD that it supposedly rips off, and well, yes, it's a really good distortion pedal
-
Hilariously bad drive/distortion
-
On that pedal, all seemed to be working, except that the output turned into a fuzzy distortion (not in a good way) at the maximum sustain settings.
-
Best brittish distortion pedal you can get at this price
-
This is a great distortion box.
-
If you hate fuzzy distortion then you will love this
-
The distortion is very weak and the controls are limited
-
I now use it as my main distortion and when I need a little extra headroom, I boost the signal with my Ibanez TS-9 Tube Screamer.
-
An OK distortion effect, especially good for the money I paid
-
but that is ok because the Line6 has a great distortion all by itself with the ESP EC loaded with EMG's
-
The distortion is warm with the tone at 12 with plenty of tonal variation available and plenty of distortion variance available.
-
No fuzzy distortion output at any settings.
-
Good crunch, nice light distortion when you want it, and it is not at all midrange sounding like a tube screamer
-
This pedal is not a hard core distortion but even with the gain rolled all the way off it still adds a good amount of break up to a clean channel with guitar volume up all the way and medium to hard picking
-
the crunch is a fairly high gain distortion pedal and this pedal is inbetween
-
Honestly, I have compared this against a Suhr Riot Distortion and an MXR Classic Distortion and quality wise, it is REALLY, REALLY hard to not hear the difference in terms of quality, tone, distortion / overdrive
-
I still have to get a compressor, but if your on the fence about this and need or cld have a 2nd distortion/OD (this is a great smooth to aggressive quality distortion, '70s to Mod distortions) get this for the money its a home run period
-
I use it set at about 10:00, so I'm not using all it's gain, but it provides a smooth, and harmonically rich distortion that kicks up above the mix when needed
-
I had a bunch of overdrive pedals, but no distortion pedals, which I needed to get some good distortion as low levels.
-
It can get a bit boomy with a neck humbucking pick up, but, on the bridge humbucker, and on the neck with a single coil, it pretty much instantly goes for a great mid range voiced distortion
-
Distortion-wise, it delivers something in between a tubescreamer type OD and a full on distortion (like a Crunchbox or Rat).
-
Has a great sound from warn overdrive to a good distortion
-
I wanted a versatile distortion pedal that could cover everything from Beatles tones to modern metal and this one is amazing for the price
-
Vintage Distortion just be the best, and it's half the price of a TS-9.About the manufacturer
-
Fantastic sound, tried many expensive distortion pedal and at this price it beats them all.
-
I used this with a RAT as well and thats the best distortion i can ever get.. amazing.
-
If you're looking a good sounding distortion pedal and don't have $100 to spend, get this pedal and try it out
-
I enjoy the normal AC15 distortion from pushing the tubes, but kicking this on with the gain maxed and the switch on high definitely puts a stock Vox more into Marshall territory
-
The time it worked it was a nice little distortion pedal
-
Overdrive/distortion heaven.
-
This is my favorite distortion pedal
-
The gain knob as well, will take you from super sparkly clean (no distortion at all), to completely saturated high gain distortion
-
best distortion
-
This Joyo is a great overdrive/distortion pedal for an incredible price
-
I can clean up the distortion easily for some nice, vibrant clean tones, with a simple turn down of the volume knob
-
If you are thinking "man, I really love this distortion, I just wish I could fill it out a little bit more
-
good distortion
-
A one point I used it with my amp turned into overdrive also and made my bends sound like Jimi Hendrix....great distortion and sustain for the price.
-
It can either be used as a preamp or to add pleasant distortion, giving it great flexibility
-
At the moment, I have this before my Boss DS 1X (very good distortion pedal, if you are into hard rock/ more aggressive styles), and am very pleased with what I hear
-
The distortion on its own is decent, possibly better than the Digitech
-
Great versatility with six controls, produced from a soft and warm distortion, to a rougher and
-
For the price u cant really beat it, howeverit is my least favorite distortion pedal on the board
-
great high gain distortion/overdrive for cheap.
-
Great distortion tone with so much control
-
Nice sounds from low overdrive to Hard Rock distortion.
-
If you're really into a hard crunchy distortion like 80's glam metal, or even some thrashier hard rock with lots of sustain, then this would be up your alley
-
It will get you one step closer, yes, in that it is generally voiced as a brighter sounding overdrive/distortion pedal
-
The sound at volume is a nice distortion that sits will in my band.
-
This is an outstanding overdrive/distortion pedal, and the fact that it can be bought for this low price is nearly criminal
-
If you want a nice distortion to replicate stuff from the 70's and 80's, then this is a great bet.
-
I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone considering a cheap distortion pedal
-
Sad to say, it actually does the full-stack thing better than my ProCo Rat, which has for years been my favorite distortion pedal.
-
This pedal has a great sounding distortion but can also sound like an overdrive if dialed in right
-
I have been looking for a reliable distortion for a while, and as many players know-it's hard to find the right tone for your particular style of music
-
Goes from subtle overdrive to over-the-top metal distortion with tons of sustain
-
I've tried quite a few pedals in this price range, and above, including a Cool Cat Distortion, a modified DS-1, modded TS-9, and a Visual Sound Jekyl and Hyde
-
Gives a nice fuzz or vintage distortion on the bass
-
I have a few OD's including a OCD, a fuzz and a modded Rat but thought for $30 bucks from Crazy Cart this might be a cool distortion pedal
-
I highly recommend it if you want a fat, crisp and crunchy distortion that you can roll back for cleaner rhythm tube sounds
-
Do you wish your board had a nice crunchy distortion available
-
A great distortion/overdrive
-
I generally prefer distortion to overdrive because I want my dirty to be consistent no matter how hard I'm hitting the strings.
-
and I wanted a strong, analog distortion pedal.
-
The only reason I did not give this item 5 stars is that there are definitely better distortion pedals available
-
Great distortion pedal
-
excellent effect, has a distortion very smooth also is loud but with the sound of the british amps
-
Great distortion.
-
The Deluxe Crunch is not as bright and gives up some great distortion at low volumes on my Fender (Blackface and Tweed) amps.
-
A great inexpensive distortion pedal
-
If you're looking for your first cheap distortion pedal, forget the Boss DS-1 and get this one!
-
Further, the best distortion sounds my amp has don't really happen at low volumes-you really have to push the power tube (by turning the amp's overall volume up) to get it to sing
-
Forget about these amp snobs that think the distortion's no good if it's not all from the amp.
-
Super tight low end, from light crunchy overdrive to full on lead distortion
-
Its responsive to your picking attack, its distortion is very very harmonically rich, and it does give you a Marshall type sound, good boost in the mids and bass, giving your tone the sonic density that those amps are famous for
-
you geta clean crunch without the severe distortion that can make the chords breakup.great for something like "suzie Q"
-
They made a fantastic distortion, one of the very best I've ever played, and they're practically giving it away.
-
It is a very good sounding distortion pedal, seems to be very sturdy and the price is absolutely unbeatable
-
This is by far the worst sounding distortion ever
-
this pedal has a great distortion tone, and would be good as a stand alone distortion, if not a tube-ifyer
-
Still, a pretty good sounding distortion for not very much money.
-

-
(as you turn it clock wise) - I like it for adding charcater/punch to my live
-
At this extremely affordable price it's hard to pass by such a great petal billed as an OCD clone this pedal does not sound quite as good as the Fulltone petal but is extremely usable and excellent sounding t in my opinion
-
Most "Marshall-in-a-box" stomps, imo, sound much tamer than a real Marshall, and they give you a "prettied-up", safer version of that sound, in order to appease the 15-year-old Children Of Boredom/Cannibal Corpse lame-o neo-hippies the scene is now infested with
