I have a number of Class A tube

My Line 6 Spider has a lot of usable tones but lacks the clean sound of a Fender clean tube amp IMHO

Sounds great with my USA Tele and tube amp!

With these I can get most of the sounds I needed, but what was escaping me was the really warm, natural, slightly breaking up tone you get with a good old tube amp.

I now run this thing into an 'amplug' (ac30) with headphones, I am absolutely blown away by the authentic tube amp tones I'm getting, from clean to nasty and everything in between, if you're looking to run something direct while keeping the signal analog, this is the best $40 you can possibly spend on gear, hands down.

I have used it as a standard pedal on my board, and have yet to use it in the effects loop, or as a direct input amp replacement (what good would all my nice tube amps be then?).Into an el84 based amp, it brought the amp to life, and with a couple of Jensen clones I could have sworn I was playing through a deluxe with the mids beaming through the mix.

I wanted to run direct and needed something to emulate a mic'd clean tube guitar cabinet

If you want that sound cheaply, try an inexpensive modified (new tubes and speaker) Fender Champ or a bunch of other options out there, like the Ethos Clean or Orange Mini

I would not say it is "just as good as a tube

If you are looking for perfect tube sound, you better just buy a twin, etc

It's a very warm, tube-like tone, yet has projection to get through a mix

There are some A/B blind test on you tube and is really hard to tell what is what
