For the price, this guy puts out a pretty good range of fuzz, and the octave up effect is decent for high and high-mid ranges
I certainly expected a little better effects but maybe I expected too much
If you are looking to get a good octavix/Octavia type effect in this pedal, you may want to reconsider(MHO)...
Also, these have two capacitors on the PCB which were soldered backwards (their polarities are reversed) and if you take the time to switch them around you'll get a much better effect
The JF-12 fulfilled the purpose with relatively clean boost, decent overdrive, great fuzz, and a reasonable octave generator effect
Personally, this pedal played with my mustang V solid state amp just make it sound unbelievably good
I have a solid state Fender amp (Champion 100W) with on board modelling
I have it at the end of my signal chain to "warm up" my solid state amp
I place my jekyll & hyde overdrive in front of this pedal to boost it, also my ibanez ts-7.I've tried using this pedal as an overdrive with my amps, I used a solid state amp and the blues
I get comments about my tone all the time, and most people can't believe I'm using a solid state amp with a chinese made tube modeling pedal
They are well built with a sound that is beautiful for that price
There are some A/B blind test on you tube and is really hard to tell what is what
Look up videos of this before you buy it, if you find that it has the sound that you are looking for by all means buy it it is very well built and well priced
The pedal is solid, well built, and sounds better in terms of audio quality than the Boss pedals I have owned
The pedal is very well built and decorated, it is rugged, the pots rotate very smoothly, and the sound is warm and transparent
If you like classic Fender tones, especially cleans, you'll love the Joyo American Sound.
The pedal does an excellent job at modeling the classic Fender tweeds
It's currently my "dirty" clean Fender tone with the Joyo AC Tone covering my harder-driving stuff
The only reason I don't comepletely trash the pedal is because even though it requires very specific settings to get a decent sound, once I found it, it really does capture that classic fender sound
When I want dirt, this pedal fills the bill so I can roll from a dirty Fender tone to a crunchier not quite Marshall tone
This thing is definitely amazing, especially in front of an amp
This thing sounds really good if you are into Black Sabbath and other similar bands you will love it too
This thing sucks it doesnt even work it makes barely any difference in sound with my
As an electronic musician it took me awhile to figure out where the voodoo would shine and if you're not playing guitar and you're more focused on beats and noise, this thing is most fun with drum machines, especially the volca kick- which i run basically, kick to voodoo to particle, and that is alot of fun.
this thing is freaking awesome its my favorite pedal right now and the price is a steal.
It keeps the stage quiet, and gives me just about the same great tone I get out of my amp.
I was missing the tone I used to get out of some of my older Peavey amps, and this pedal brought it back -- but with a decidely Fender-like sparkle to it
The overall tone was lacking, I sent this pedal back for a refund.
Great tone, very adjustable, multiple sounds in one pedal.
You can manipulate the tone and fuzz with the knobs which is nice
My only gripe would be that the footswith could feel of better quality however everything works as it should
There are some A/B blind test on you tube and is really hard to tell what is what
Don't know yet how it works as it did not come with a cord....
I've used it in front of solid-state and tube amps alike, as well as in a direct recording setup, and have been pleased with my tone in every instance
Great toneTHe fuzz on this is alrightThe octave switch is useful for getting interesting effects and for creating a dirtier soundThe mid cut is nice to havecons:lots of noise from the pedalthe pedal has horrible feedback, worse than when I am using a blues driver and a standard distortion pedal at the same timeThis pedal is good if you like getting lots of feedback (my band actually uses this to get feedback to end/begin some songs haha
Killer Fuzz ,great for harsher tony iommi fuzz and such, but a bit too harsh for certain lighter Gilmour,Jimmy Page esque tones
Killer Fuzz ,great for harsher tony iommi fuzz and such, but a bit too harsh for certain lighter Gilmour,Jimmy Page esque tones
(as you turn it clock wise) - I like it for adding charcater/punch to my live
This is the second one ive bought cause i love it so much the switch is a bit unreliable though
Avery very natural and versatile sounding pedal....can be used as a volume boost to glassy Fender breakup to full on grind withgood sustain and bite...highly recommended!.....
