    • The sound: Fairly natural with a decent bass response (for the size), the mid range is surprisingly well represented while the highs are clear (perhaps a bit muted/dark in the lower highs, 3-6kHz) but have a tinge of harshness (somewhat similar to some closed-back Audio-Technica headphones) and extend to only about 12kHz before beginning a sustained roll-off (still above average for their price range)

    • Trying to compensate with a pair of ear-covering headphones brought about exactly the opposite response: the music turned very bass-y, but not crisp, with muffled frequencies.

    • The bass doesn't sound as rich as on the expensive pair of headphones I no longer use, but it sounds much better than the cheap headphones I was using
