Kayak Hoist – Overhead Pulley System with 125 lb Capacity for Kayak, Canoe, Bike, or Ladder Storage by Rad Sportz

    • I used it to hang my 10' pelican kayak.
    • We did not have enough clearance to use them to hang the kayaks above the garage door, which stinks
    • Otherwise the kayak will fall off when lifting it
    • love these! bought 2 - easy to install, hung them from roof of our large shed, hang both kayaks up overhead, easy to do singlehandedly too.
    • Mine failed dangerously -- I was just lucky that there was nobody under the kayak when it fell, or that it didn't damage my car, or ruin my kayak.
    • Snapped both the lag and wood screws and almost had my kayak come crashing to the floor
    • Was apprehensive about having to hang two 12' fishing kayaks, due to weight limitations of the hoist...each 12'er weighs
    • Kayak hangs super low when all the trolleys and such are stacked
    • I also had some difficulty pulling my 100lb kayak to the top so using a carabiner and a loop of
    • hangs my kayak high in my garage and works great.
    • Actually hung the kayaks with the hooks through the handles of the kayaks which works great and then used the straps as safety straps around the kayaks and over the mounting 2x4s for safety
    • We hang out kayak from this in the garage
    • It hangs the kayak over the front end of my vehicle in the garage, but that doesn't bother me.
    • Even though my kayak is well within the listed 125lb rating, you have to pull way too hard for the lag screws to withstand
    • Is just right for the price, I was able to install and hang My 2 kayaks on a 8' garage ceiling and still clear for the cars, however did no used the straps for holding it, instead I used my kayak loop holes on its bottom and use some of the extra long cord that came in the package to again extra 12" closer to the ceiling..
    • 12'' kayak hangs pretty low when in the slips.
    • My Kayak came crashing down on top of me the first time I tried to lower it.
    • Don't really want to hang my kayak 10' in the air above a car or anything really and chance it falling.
    • This kayak hoist well designed
    • I have a 10 sit on top kayak which, at 6' slipped right off the kayak. ending up having them 2' apart to make it work but by the time I had lowered it & raised it to get a feel for the brake system, the ropes were fraying which didn't instill much confidence.
    • I rarely use my Kayak and a couple of weeks ago one of the straps failed.
    • I can see how this could work better if it was up against a wall and the kayak was on its side, but really not ideal for trying to mount flat up against a ceiling.
    • After giving up in frustration, we ended up just leaning the kayak on its side against the house - problem solved.
    • So perfect for being able to keep our kayaks safe in the garage but out of the way!!
    • Takes some time to install, but this is an awesome kayak hanging system.
    • Takes some time to install, but this is an awesome kayak hanging system.
    • I made the mistake of letting go of one rope end, which allowed my Kayak to fall hard on that end and split the end of the Kayak.
    • I have 11-ft ceilings in my garage and there is absolutely not enough rope included to hang my kayak with the pulleys mounted 7-
    • Design issue caused my kayak to come crashing down
    • This is a great kayak lift.
    • Just finished installing hoist to support a 100 pound tandem kayak.
    • It holds the kayak well
    • I had to hang the kayak upside down because it slipped out of the hanging straps if right side up
    • I wouldn't trust this as delivered at all , as the flaw is hidden once you install it and will be uncovered only when your kayak or canoe is someday crashing to the floor after the rope fails at this point.
    • Pulleys work well and keep my kayak well out of the way
    • Works well and kayak is suspended about 7.5ft above floor and locking brake for rope (like a venation blind mechanism) adds a bit of safety.
    • The kayak is easy to hoist with the brake assist in the pully allowing a chance to let off the rope when raising it up or down
    • Our kayaks are well within the weight rating
    • Super heavy duty and holds my kayak just fine.
    • Our kayak was mainly hanging in our garage and after 4 years the strap broke and the Kayak fell to the ground.
    • I was hoping to install and hang kayak on the rafters in our shop so I could drive my jeep into the shop and drop kayak onto the top without heavy lifting etc.
    • the kayak is in the air, but i dread having to take it down and operate this system.
    • Finally after months my husband hung the Kayak
    • It hangs the kayak over the front end of my vehicle in the garage, but that doesn't bother me.
    • The kayak will probably hang lower than your expecting.
    • Seemingly sturdy holding up a 70lb kayak in my garage
    • I used to to lift a car top carrier rather than a kayak or canoe even knowing that the minimum suggested distance apart of the two pulley systems was more than the shorter distance I would require but this did not hinder the operation or installation of the lift at all.
    • With a 12ft tall garage ceiling, the kayak hangs 7ft in the air
    • hangs my kayak high in my garage and works great.
    • Holds up a 13 ft kayak just fine with an inflatable paddle board in it.
    • I installed it today and already the ropes are fraying and the brake system has failed causing my kayak to come crashing down
    • Walked into the garage yesterday to find one strap snapped, the kayak dented the side of my VAN, and slid underneath my van
    • love these! bought 2 - easy to install, hung them from roof of our large shed, hang both kayaks up overhead, easy to do singlehandedly too.
    • The rope which is used in the pulley system is not strong enough to support my 14ft kayak
    • So I ditched included hooks and straps and secured the kayak directly to bottom pulleys with two ratchet straps, straight braces, nuts and bolts (see the second picture)
    • Also it doesn't lift a heavier kayak very well
    • If it does break, and the kayak falls on my head and crushes me, then I will change my review from beyond the grave
    • The strap webbing that supports the kayak is very
    • Easy Kayak Hoist"... strongly recommend giving that a watch first.
    • Hung a 12' kayak from my garage ceiling
    • I hung 4 kayaks with two hangers with extra slings and one with the unit and the store bought rope
    • This is working perfectly to hoist up and store my car top carrier, not a kayak
    • I was intending to use this to hang my 10' fishing kayak, but the straps provided just continued to slide off the ends when trying to lift the kayak.
    • Due to the design, your kayak will hang at least 2-ft from the ceiling.
    • Easy to install, but works better when hanging my two person sea kayak, with two people as it is just over 100 lbs
    • I hung my kayak across my joists, so I lag-bolted a 1x4 to the ceiling, then hung this on the 1x4.
    • I will probably order another to hang my sit on top kayak in the same manner.
    • I now have three of these in my garage hanging two 10 foot kayaks and one 12' 8" kayak.
    • I have used this to hang my 10' sit on top kayak under my deck until i make some room for it in the garage
    • I used this hoist to hang a 13.5 tandem kayak from my garage ceiling
    • I opened the garage door to find the 80 pound kayak (Hobie Mirage Evolution 11'
    • The kayak fell to the floor.
    • But the straps have a plastic buckle clip that broke dropping my kayak onto my car
    • My application was better suited for hanging the kayak on its freeboard rather than its keel as is shown in the directions.
    • Works great, great quality. had questions as if it will handle my extra wide sit on top kayak and the straps made it with still room for adjustment
    • I bought two of these to hang my kayaks
    • I wish I had a picture of them hanging, there is more than hanging Canoe or Kayak.
    • My kayak came crashing down
    • Used to hang kayak on garage ceiling.
    • Straps holding the kayak are really adjustable making the product flexible for different types of kayaks
    • Attaching a kayak to to a power winch to hang from the roof of the shop.
    • We hung up a 16 foot Kayak.
    • Wow…one mount failed and my kayak came crashing to the ground
    • My kayaks feel very sturdy and I'm very comfortable parking my cars under them in the garage
    • My Kayak was 40 lbs lighter than the rated capacity and the system still failed.
    • works as it was advertised
    • Only 4 stars as the company shouldn't include any lag screws and should require the purchaser to buy the appropriate rated screws for mounting as the included screws for my application were too short and some were very poor quality as they broke.
    • This thing is as great as it is simple.
    • A little tricky to orient and run the rope but works as it should.
