    • The most critical problem is that the plastic buckles failed and the canoe fell from the ceiling
    • One year in almost to the day, was lifting my canoe back up and one of the plastic buckles connecting two straps busted sending that half of the canoe crashing to the floor
    • Plastic buckle snapped after a years use allowing kayak to fall on to vehicle and damage roof
    • Obviously there was a major defect in the plastic buckle
    • I personally do not have any plastic buckles to break in my kit
    • On the good side - they have eliminated the plastic buckle - the instructions even admit that idea in the past didn't work out

    • I examined the failed strap, and could see that the plastic buckle (that connects the two strap halves) had broken, so the strap separated from the buckle, causing the kayak to fall

    • Only 4 stars as the company shouldn't include any lag screws and should require the purchaser to buy the appropriate rated screws for mounting as the included screws for my application were too short and some were very poor quality as they broke.

    • A little tricky to orient and run the rope but works as it should.
    • Notes: It MUST be attached through the ceiling to a strong beam(s), so accurately locating that beam is essential
