Only 4 stars as the company shouldn't include any lag screws and should require the purchaser to buy the appropriate rated screws for mounting as the included screws for my application were too short and some were very poor quality as they broke.

Yuck!!It is made from cheap poor quality materials; I had two screws that couldn’t take the torque and snapped when I needed them the most

I liked about the installation: The Kayak Hoist only cost $22.54 + tax, very economical; the rope, pulleys, and hardware appeared to be of good quality, except as noted further down; the instructions were detailed, included drawings, and offered a few different options for installation; the looped straps are a very good solution for attaching to an irregularly shaped load; and the hoist was delivered via UPS a couple of days before the estimated due date

Very easy to install, good quality brackets and pulleys, but the lag bolts that hold the bracket to the ceiling truss and the screws that hold the cleat to the wall sheared off during installation

This thing is as great as it is simple.

A little tricky to orient and run the rope but works as it should.
