Kayak Hoist – Overhead Pulley System with 125 lb Capacity for Kayak, Canoe, Bike, or Ladder Storage by Rad Sportz

    • Using better mounting screws with washers into the center of a 2x4 on both ends seems decent however lifting a 70lb yak resulted in too much downforce for my liking
    • I also used better screws than what is provided as I saw enough posts with broken screws.
    • n’t expect needing; lag bolts, screws, a wooden board to protect your ceiling and keep the whole contraption for collapsing on you
    • The rest of the structure is really nice but the screws were cheap.
    • You will need to supplement with your own anchors and/or screws as I broke about half the screws while hand tightening
    • I would have rated this product much better if it wasn't for those integral screws that are THE most important for safety's sake.
    • After prior experience with the bike hoist and reading reviews I already knew the mounting screws were junk
    • Wood screws to attach cleat are the weakest wood screws ive ever seen
    • rack works great once installed, but i had to purchase new screws as i broke of the supplied ones.
    • I used some better quality bolts and screws from the hardware store and haven't had any issues with the rest of the system.
    • Broke both cleat mounting screws instantly, very low quality.
    • it would be useful for the instructions to recommend guide-hole size and tightening strategy, as it is very easy to get both of those wrong and break the screws.
    • Very cheap screws
    • I didnt trust the hardware (bolts and screws) and the Rope included, so I replaced them
    • Missing lag bolts and screws
    • Also, when screwing the piece that you're supposed to wrap the excess rope around onto the wall, the screw broke
    • I have enough screws and bolts holding it up to support a small elephant, but I am concerned about the weak link - the hangers
    • Only 4 stars as the company shouldn't include any lag screws and should require the purchaser to buy the appropriate rated screws for mounting as the included screws for my application were too short and some were very poor quality as they broke.
    • Fairly easy to install, screws could be better grade of materials
    • , they are the poorest quality screws ever
    • Notes: It MUST be attached through the ceiling to a strong beam(s), so accurately locating that beam is essential
