Please take care in mounting...make sure you are fully attached to floor joists, as I learned that the hard way

There are two or three mounting options, one of which does not require additional hardware, but in my opinion this is the least attractive and least secure way to hang something.

I wish I could have rotated the mounting bracket because my joists run the wrong way, but I couldn't

In all, I'm happy with the protect and will update if I figure a better way to strap my cargo box to the hoist or a way to lower it down.

I would recommend finding another, easier way to story your kayak.

I have found the best way to lower the load is to pull one rope, then let the other rope slip

Installation was not difficult, read some reviews that had problems threading the rope the proper way as directions are kind of vague

It really helped me that I'm creative and knowledgeable to figure out the best way to mount the brackets on the ceiling.

The rope is kind of cheap and the way the brake holds the rope I can see it getting damaged over time

Because my rafters run the "wrong" way, I added 2x4 cross braces, which worked really nicely (and cheap)

Only 4 stars as the company shouldn't include any lag screws and should require the purchaser to buy the appropriate rated screws for mounting as the included screws for my application were too short and some were very poor quality as they broke.

This thing is as great as it is simple.

A little tricky to orient and run the rope but works as it should.
