The fact that I could remove and flip the top and bottom strap sections easily via velcro was a surprisingly nice feature

I think the bottom strap tied into the plastic cap was not ideal...if that cap breaks the strap is then useless.

(If you need to do this make sure to place your holes so they go into the hollow part of the block, not middle or ends.)One small frustration -- as you are trying to screw in the top mounting hole, the top strap will want to keep dropping down in your way, and you can't remove it.

The only complaint is it's hard to get to the top strap to buckle them in

My only suggestion to the maker would be to lengthen the top straps, because once the kayak was in the rack, I had to reach behind it to grab the female end of the strap buckle, which hangs on the wall-side and was difficult to reach once the kayak was loaded.

Only thing I would request is a way for the top straps to be secured and out of the way, some kind of magnetic systems or whatever you come up with

Racks are padded which is great and even better, they have an adjustable strap so there’s no risk of the kayak falling

Quality is top notch, has nice wide keeper straps and the pads are ample and soft.

The straps are pretty worthless for installation high up on a wall in the garage, where I installed mine.

Also, when I was installing I had to take the upper bolt out where it holds the upper buckle strap, as it was constantly getting in the way and make it hard to install with one hand holding the hook and one hand with the drill
