Except for the metal bolt & screw, the soft pad on top, and four rubber-like non-skid pads on the bottom, the footrest looks to be entirely made of extruded plastic.

I can't say for sure how it would hold up, but if the pad ever got dirty with mud or something, I'd try taking the top pad off and washing it in the kitchen sink with warm water and dish detergent, then letting it air dry.

I don't use it non-stop, it's good to switch it up, but the padding is very comforting without being too squishy/soft.

I accidentally noticed that the soft pad on top will come off easily (I bought slightly used model).

the padding is nice but the lock to hold it in place wasnt very durable and broke easily

The underside of the soft pad has a rubber-like feel.
