Someone had gifted us with a sample pack of k-cups just before our old Keurig quit working and we found we had to cut open some of the pods and use the my k-cup in order to brew them as the k-cups they came packaged in were too "pressurized" and would cause the machine to kick the clean needle message EVERY time we tried to brew one
