• Reviews around bastion (2.01 of 5)

Kingdom Hearts II - PlayStation 2

    • Extremely useful at the Hollow Bastion Crystal Fissure, or someplace in the vicinity, about to fight (excuse me, try to fight
    • I know Hollow Bastion is supposed to be the Squaresoft world, but if so, we should see some Squaresoft-type stuff going on there.
    • The orchestra is also breathtaking to the wonderful music for Hollow Bastion to the light hearted beat for Twilight Town
    • I loved how they just slightly changed the Hollow Bastion music to suit the new kind
    • One of my favorite parts was around the halfway point (in this game, nearly every world must be visited twice; once before and once after this grand midpoint event); it begins with a massive cutscene of an army of Heartless storming Hollow Bastion, and later a scene involving Mickey Mouse in such a way that I never thought was possible.
    • -sigh.-Also, I think the characters and events in Hollow Bastion were very basic and surface-level.
    • Agrabah, where Jafar is about to make his comeback, Halloweentown and Christmastown, home of Santa and his elves, the Pride Lands, where Simba reigns, Disney Castle, where Mickey's in charge, the Timeless River; a doorway into the past (Steamboat Willie,) Hollow Bastion, which the Squaresoft characters seem to have chosen for their home, Space Paranoids, and lastly, the homeworld of the Nobodies themselves
    • The trio also runs into all-purpose Disney villain Pete (Jim Cummings), who they learn was working for Maleficent (Susan Blakeslee). From there, they are able to start visiting worlds again, starting with Hollow Bastion, the castle of KHI villain Ansem.
    • The graphics were beautiful, and sometimes the background music could just make you want to stop and listen, particularly in the Beast's Castle, Hollow Bastion and Port Royal
    • The most surprising roll, however comes from Saruman the White himself, Christopher Lee as Diz (aka Ansem the Wise--you'll find out soon enough), the main man of Hollow Bastion
    • Still, the plot of the Coliseum (another repeat world) was pretty cool, especially since it involved FFX character Auron (Matt McKenzie).Still, the best parts of the game tended to take place in the original worlds, especially Hollow Bastion.
    • Visiting Hollow Bastion, Leon reveals an army of heartless threatening the city.
    • This is a shame in the boss battles in particular, as you will very often miss out on a lot of the character of each boss fight because you are primarily concerned with bashing one button as fast as you can, since that's simply the most effective way of winning, regardless of what a boss's signature moves or spectacular special attack is
    • The gummi ship missions are vastly improved as they are actually not boring this time
    • The Bad:-The battles are way to easy, I only died on two bosses.-Some of the voice acting isn't as good as in the first
    • The good isn't as bright as in the first game, the darkness isn't as dark, and the characters are less vibrant and distinct.
    • I ordered kingdom hearts 2 and got the first kingdom hearts instead IM LIVID
    • lol it was as if this game was the grown up version of my once lovable classic...however time since then has passed and as I matured I ;earned to appreciate the creativity and slight unappealing changes
    • Battle commands are improved - I especially like the Reaction commands
    • I like this game pretty well, a newer fan mostly and just finished kh for ps2 so wanted to continue with 2
