I would highly recommend this unit to anyone.

The one issue was the ability or should I say the in-ability for the unit to automatically set the "darkness, various colors of the color wheel dealing with facial tones vs nature, as each slide had to be custom set...to have the best appearance working with the colors of green, blue, and red for each photo

My unit was missing the negative slide scanner tray (or it was misplaced in my excitement to get it open and begin scanning).

Great starter unit for the money

Even though the manual is poorly printed but legible, the unit is easy to learn and use

This unit is perfect and I can get so many chosen pictures stored for future refence for my family

I like this little unit!

It is possible that some units are defective and I happened to get one, but since a number of other purchasers have the same complaints, you should beware!

If you want to scan a large number of slides and negatives, this unit is too slow for that.

Overall for home pictures its a great unit.

The unit was very easy to begin using after reading the manual.

In any case the unit works well plugged directly into your USB point on your laptop and you can upload your images directly via this connection

While the unit itself seemed to work OK the holders for slides, negatives, etc didn't seem very durable

I think I sent one unit back as defective when it may only have need to be cleaned

Anybody have a good work-around for that?I suspect the expensive units provide superior results when the medium being processed is of very high quality

My new unit is working well, but more importantly, it has been such a pleasure to deal with DBROTH whom really cares about their customer's satisfaction.

The unit was ready to use but remember to have a spare Dr ready to save the scans.

I got a defective unit - tried 3 different sd cards - unit not working - get blank white or black screen - no Kodak support to call for help - waste of 3 hours trying to use - very poor instruction manual as well - do not buy -

It could have just been a one off bad unit, but for the price you expect EVERYTHING to work

Light unit and ocover for it in base were lose and misaligned

It took us 3 tries to get a working unit: the first was part of a multi-item Prime order that was so damaged, we refused the shipment; the second turned out to be a defective unit; the third was very quickly supplied by the excellent Seller after we contacted them directly.

I was lucky, unit was not damaged, but I would not buy from this source again

DB Roth was kind enough, after i returned the defective unit, to send me a replacement unit at no cost.

This unit works exactly as they say

I purchased my Scanza from DBROTH and it arrived quickly, but unit was packed very poorly, loose, rattling around in a bigger box with no padding

The resulting image file is of reasonably good quality - not suitable for big enlargements, but to get that probably requires a significantly more expensive unit, not to mention the time spent mounting the negatives.

If you are more concerned with preserving memories, rather than quality, this unit will probably work for you

only drawback the unit has and why I only gave it 4 stars is the power cord length
