However, I don't think this is necessary for tuning unless you are in a very loud environment.

This is great for those noisy environments where there is a lot of things that can interfere with the tuner

I wanted a mike that I could put in direct contact with my instrument, so that I could tune in an otherwise noisy environment without having stray sounds confuse the tuner.

I bought this to see if it helped in noisy environments without needing a breakout box or other DI box with effects/tuner output.
