KRUPS Grind and Brew Auto-Start Maker with Builtin Burr Coffee Grinder, 10-Cups, Black

    • I've even tried grinding extra beans for the amount of water without success
    • The beans are no worse off in the reservoir than they would be in a jar and it seals better than the usual bag.
    • It tastes like something you would get on an airplane, and I used very good sngle estate beans, the same as I had used in our Braun earlier in the day.
    • About 7 weeks after 1st use, I went to put beans in and the protective cap was off and the plastic holder it screws into was broken - so dump the beans and coffee and thinking it was just a bad luck flaw, Amazon had me a new one in 2 days (which is why we buy on Amazon)
    • It is a bit loud when it's grinding the beans, but our kitchen is
    • Plus the grinder can hold enough beans for multiple pots of coffee so you can just autoset it and go
    • So I thought, if am using the “strong” setting, using dark roasted coffee beans, what can I do to brew a cup of strong coffee
    • I see other reviews about how it doesn't grind the beans right - for me, it grinds very fine for strong coffee
    • The Krups Grind and Brew coffeemaker with a burr grinder is excellent, and the only machine with a built in grinder that grinds the beans fine enough and makes coffee strong enough for my taste.
    • the taste of coffee from freshly ground beans is superior to ground
    • and it's a grindr...it grinds beans.... that makes noise.
    • some days it wouldn’t grind any beans and other days it would grind only a few beans
    • Of course, you can also use ground coffee, but we always prefer whole bean, so I cant speak to this feature in great detail.2
    • I think the beans get stuck in the bean container and not enough gets ground.
    • The grinder does not grind the coffee beans fully
    • Fails to consistently grind beans even when the grinder is full
    • We love that it grinds fresh beans with every pat, and it seems to combine that with whatever magic it does with the water to produce consistently good coffee.
    • I have increased the number of stars because the coffee we are getting from this machine is excellent, whether we use the grinder with fresh beans or turn off the grinder for use with ground coffee.—————Original review —————————————I have had a number of Grind and Brew machines and know how they work and what may cause trouble
    • If you use good beans you will get great coffee!
    • The Krups is quiet, but I do not like how it grinds the beans.
    • While the coffeemaker brews a good pot using already ground coffee, the grind function doesn't grind beans fine enough to make adequately strong coffee
    • I've managed to get a decent cup of coffee out of grinding enough beans for 4 cups, but only pouring in about 2 cups of water and using the "Strong" setting
    • But I always prefer a finer grind, so I choose the finest setting and it grinds my beans fine enough
    • Decided to send it back and just grind my beans at the store.
    • But if I keep having to empty this thing out every 4-5 pots to clear beans from the grinder, it's going back
    • It is easy to program and if you just remember to set it up before you go to bed, or even after dinner the night before, it will have your coffee ready for you in the morning from freshly ground beans
    • On brewing the 4th pot using the grinder, I hit the brew button, which normally grinds the beans, drops them into the basket and brews the coffee.
    • Never have to stir dark roast beans to get them to grind.
    • After experiencing this several times, we now grind the beans separately and just use it as a regular coffee maker
    • The major issue is the grinder, definitely not good, don't properly grind de beans in thin as a powder (correct way to make a coffee), even if you choose the thinnest option
    • Makes a good cup of coffee once you figure out the water, whole bean amount, grind and brew strength.
    • It grinds beans to a finer grind and now we use about 25% less beans and have better tasting coffee
    • I would add that if the beans you are using are at all sticky or oily, you'll have to force them into the grinder
    • But I always prefer a finer grind, so I choose the finest setting and it grinds my beans fine enough
    • While the coffeemaker brews a good pot using already ground coffee, the grind function doesn't grind beans fine enough to make adequately strong coffee
    • Grinder leaves ground beans in the compartment between the grinder and the folder, which needs to be cleaned regularly due to unnecessary residue
    • Just refill the beans, grind, repeat
    • With our previous coffee maker we had to grind the beans the night before in order to use the auto brew function but with the KRUPS just set the machine up and press auto and wake up to fresh brewed coffee
    • This coffee maker combines a good quality bean grinder with a traditional drip machine
    • We love that it grinds fresh beans with every pat, and it seems to combine that with whatever magic it does with the water to produce consistently good coffee.
    • The kind of fresh beans that give an amazing grind and a resultant pot of coffee that almost takes you to the mountainside groves themselves
    • The grinding chute on these Capresso/Krupps grinders tends to plug up if you use oily dark roast beans and the fine grounds setting so be cautious of that
    • The Krups, after grinding the coffee beans, retains some of the grind in the chamber
    • it’s quiet, auto shut off and grinds beans perfect!
    • So it just overflows the top section with ground beans
    • some days it wouldn’t grind any beans and other days it would grind only a few beans
    • because we like to grind our beans just before brewing I also used a separate grinder
    • Today the machine won't even start grinding the beans or heart the water
    • This machine has wasted the beans by making water downed coffee
    • If you dont want fresh ground beans then buy preground.
    • New to grinding my beans, I stumbled at first
    • Face it, grinding hard coffee beans will make some noise, and since it is set to come on right before my alarm, it's not a problem for me
    • The Krups Grind and Brew coffeemaker with a burr grinder is excellent, and the only machine with a built in grinder that grinds the beans fine enough and makes coffee strong enough for my taste.
    • Once the coffee is brewed, the heater turns off automatically after 2 hours (I think, I might be wrong on the time) but there is no way to turn it back on unless you grind more beans
    • when it grinds beans, it was ok
    • It started to grind coffee beans then stopped and that was the end of that coffee maker.
    • produces terrific tasting coffee with freshly ground beans
    • Not have to watch over the coffee maker to make sure it grounded enough beans.
    • Specifically, the grinder would start to grind beans, but would not pass the grinds to the filter unit
    • If you're looking for a coffee maker that makes a pot of good coffee, using fresh-ground beans, and keeps it warm, this is one I recommend.
    • Easy to use and makes coffee quickly-it is loud when it grinds the beans..because it is grinding beans.
    • It grinds 2-3 times as much beans as needed, wasting most of
    • The grinder grinds the beans, but gets stuck when trying to make its way to the brewer basket
    • A coffee maker just needs to grind beans, put them in the basket...and heat water to pour over it
    • Back to grinding the beans myself
    • The bucket has a lip that covers the grinder but it is to narrow so that beans get clogged before grinding
    • But it does grind beans and make coffee so really, what more can you ask for?
    • I read all the instructions I wanted to grind my beans into strong coffee I chose fine grind and the strong setting for 10 cups four
    • I switched to paper filters - a better result as I use a dark French Roast bean
    • It doesn't grind the coffee beans anymore.
    • Also, unlike my prior coffee maker, this doesn't warn you if you have not put the basket in for the ground beans
    • I cleaned the machine, vacuumed both the excess grounds as well as the bean holder, and descaled
    • We love freshly ground beans each morning
    • There is also a button that brews it right after the beans are ground
    • It takes a little experimenting to get the bean to water ratio right ( like any coffee maker) but once you get it locked in all you have to do is fill the water tank and push start
    • To brew with already ground beans, put in the desired amount of water
    • Leftover beans are not as fresh and because we like to change things up with variety of special beans, we are never quite sure what is in the mix
    • Thought with the Krups name that this would be a quality product, but it does a bad job of grinding beans as previous customers have written
    • Returned it after too many solid beans got stuck and could not get unjammed.
    • Would recommend to anyone looking for a programmable coffee maker that grinds the beans at time of brew.
    • A waste of good beans
    • The machine makes delicious coffee every time, whether you grind whole beans or use the basket filter for ground coffee
    • The result is watery coffee because not enough beans go through the grind.2
    • We made coffee... used good quality beans and all we got was a light brown drip
    • We love freshly ground beans each morning
    • It just makes noise but doesn't grind the coffee beans.
    • Previously, I ground my beans using a separate burr grinder (which I paid more money for than this coffee grinder/maker).
    • Yes it’s a little loud when it grinds beans but what machine isn’t
    • It does not heat up the beans like many grinders
    • The beans were still too coarse to make a good cup of coffee.
    • It grinds the beans and puts in the filter how much needed by itself, just press how many cups you want and how strong you want your coffee and bam....perfect coffee.
    • The first day I used the unit to make 4, and then 10 cups of coffee from ground beans, all went well
    • The grinder function did not work as we thought it should.
    • The old filters don't fit flush into the recess for amoeba shaped pod of charcoal ... guess we'll see if it floats up out of its well as it gets used.... also, I thought I saw a drain hole in the top of the handle, but mistook the depression at the top of the handle and it holds water when you use the dishwasher to clean the carafe (even though the directions say to hand wash - who does that?
    • Every morning we can have coffee at home that almost as good as if we bought it at a coffee shop
