Re-ordered our old grind and brew Cuisinart that lasted for years.

Have had other grind and brew coffeemakers but we love this one.

First off, be prepared to play with the brew strength, number of cups and grind settings to find what works for you

I had to return the first one because every so often, it wouldn't start ... after speaking to Krups customer service, the only way was to go through a non-grind brew cycle, then the machine would essentially reset so that I could run a grind-brew cycle.

That makes for inconsistent brew results.

If you like the grind/brew type of coffee maker, this one is for you.

This can be useful if brewing very early in the morning for instance as the grinder is NOT quiet.4 stars, not 5: Only complaint really is the ground coffee dispensed vs water

I have used grind/brew coffeemakers for years, so when my old one quit working, it was time to replace it

On brewing the 4th pot using the grinder, I hit the brew button, which normally grinds the beans, drops them into the basket and brews the coffee.

Purchased this one because my wife wanted the grind and brew technology.

Manually timing the brew grind time is better.

Well made machine, made a great fresh Brew.

For 8 cups of strong brew, I set the # of cups to 10 and then fill to the water line for the 8 cups

I'd shop around for a better grind & brew.

Be sure that the clock in upper left hand corner is showing and be sure to push grind and brew button, only once.

After owning a Grind and brew I will never own another style coffee maker

Followed all cleaning/troubleshooting instructions & the grind cavity still fills with excess grounds (leading to much weaker brew).

The Krups KM785D50 is easy to program, makes good coffee, and is well priced for a grind/brew coffeemaker

After 4 months of use, it's still grinding & brewing perfectly

Initially - punching in "6 cups" and "strong" brew strength and adding 6 cups of water resulted in pretty weak coffee

It wouldn't switch functions at first, now I can't even get it to grind & brew without having to unplug it and start over again after it grinds to get it to actually brew

and I only learned recently they were not using it because of the inconsistent brewing.

Overall this coffee maker is exactly what you would want from a Grind & Brew machine

Too strong, too weak brews are the biggest problem now

Very disappointed and returned for refund and will not purchase a grind and brew from Krups again

so I set for the "strong" brew setting and adjusted the grind accordingly.

In my quest for a decent grind and brew, I found many were quite flawed because they broke or jammed easily, they were hard to clean and required in depth cleaning often, or were cheaply made with inferior plastic parts.

We love a grind and brew coffee maker and this one is perfect for our needs.

To make up for this, the machine automatically dumps TONS of coffee into the brew basket which doesnt lead to better coffee or strong coffee

so you need to pop open the basket and level out the coffee after grinding to get a good consistent brew

The main complaints I saw on Krups reviews was that 1) some of the grinds were wasted during brewing because they would not be wet, 2) too many beans being used, 3) inconsistent brew strength, 4) loud when grinding, 5) small bean holder.

With our previous coffee maker we had to grind the beans the night before in order to use the auto brew function but with the KRUPS just set the machine up and press auto and wake up to fresh brewed coffee

So now we have an $80 Krupps coffee machine that we paid $130 for and we are back to grinding out coffee in the evening and having OK coffee in the morning instead of amazing fresh ground, fresh brewed coffee that we have built our relationship around for the past month
