KRUPS Grind and Brew Auto-Start Maker with Builtin Burr Coffee Grinder, 10-Cups, Black

    • I wanted to wake to a fresh ground then brewed coffee.
    • The fine ground setting isn’t extremely fine
    • I would recommend to my fellow fresh ground coffee snobs.
    • Fresh-ground coffee of course!2
    • The grind is far too coarse, even on the Lowest setting , I have stopped using it.
    • The result is not enough ground coffee in the filter (less than half) and the coffee is extremely light even set for strong.
    • If you dont want fresh ground beans then buy preground.
    • You wake up to the smell of fresh ground coffee everyday
    • I'm no coffee connoisseur, but I figured fresh ground coffee was a good idea
    • So far, the second finest grind, 5 cups of water, brew strength set to medium, and machine set to four cups works for the particular bean and roast being used now.
    • I bought this coffee maker because of the brand, Krups, to replace a similar grind & brew that didn't work well.
    • It grinds beans to a finer grind and now we use about 25% less beans and have better tasting coffee
    • Downsides are coffee brew intensity if you use included gold tone filter, I use paper filters along with the finest grind setup just then the strength and flavor intensifies a lot, I didn't like neither the glass made jar, it seems to be fragile
    • Instruction are not clear on how to set delayed start, and the grind and brew
    • Pros:Excellent grinder - consistent grinding of the beans
    • Even when set to the finest grind, the coffee is too coarse to make a strong cup.
    • The automatic grind then brew feature does not work consistently.
    • and I was excited to have access to fresh-ground coffee
    • It makes the BEST pot of coffee!Updated 11/14/2017I really wanted to love this Krups grind and brew
    • It works fine with the grind off feature as well!
    • The swing out unit that holds the filter basket has a couple of rather large design flaws that have not plagued the other grind and brew type machines I've owned.
    • I received this coffee pot for Christmas and was excited to have fresh ground coffee brewing each morning
    • If I use the grinder (which is part of the reason I bought the machine), set it for the correct number of cups, set the strength to strong, and set the grinder to the finest possible grind, the coffee comes out weak.
    • If you're looking for a coffee maker that makes a pot of good coffee, using fresh-ground beans, and keeps it warm, this is one I recommend.
    • I was SUPER surprised at how easy this one, what a good grind you get, and the great coffee you get, even if it sits there for a while!
    • I have to manually monitor the grind time and stop it at 20 seconds for a full pot at finest grind setting.
    • The first 30 days I owned this machine, I loved it, however, the nature of coffee makes the grind feature an issue.
    • I mostly like fresh ground, but it's nice to have the option to brew ground coffee.
    • So glad to off the pods , get up to a hot pot of fresh ground coffee, great machine
    • I'd shop around for a better grind & brew.
    • This KRUPS coffee maker comes with a burr grinder and that is supposed to produce a better grind
    • My only reason for a 4-star rather than a 5-star rating is that the grind selector "coarse" does not churn out a coarse grind.
    • The smell of fresh ground coffee is heaven!
    • Although it has 5 settings for fineness of grind and 3 settings for strength, every time I used it I got a MASSIVE pile of EXTREMELY COARSE grinds
    • To clean out the grind via the small clear plastic cover, you need a vacuum cleaner to draw out the grounds or else tip the whole coffee machine upside down (awesome engineering folks).Going into the trash
    • I’d end up bypassing the built in grinder to get a finer grind coffee- defeating the purpose of a built in
    • The grind is working but the water doesn't heat and fill the carafe.
    • The grind is somewhat messy too.
    • The grind seems fine, I even tried it with hand-ground beans; and I used its ground beans in my basic maker
    • I like the features and the flexibility of having both grind and strength options.
    • The automatic freshly ground coffee tastes very good everyday.
    • We really wanted to love this grind and brew machine
    • I think part of the issue is the lack of a fine grind on the Krups, no matter what the setting
    • My only complaint so far is that after it’s done grinding i have to open the filter and shake the holder back and forth to even out the spreading of grounds so that the coffee is brewed evenly.
    • The biggest issues have been that the grind was too coarse, coffee brewed too weak and/or cleanup was too involved as the grinds would make a mess.
    • Fresh ground coffee on demand
    • The auto grinder does not drop enough grind to make strong enough coffee.
    • Have had other grind and brew coffeemakers but we love this one.
    • On the other hand, this one is sooooo much easier than the daily cleaning grind of the Cuisinart
    • while I enjoyed the coffee it made, there were definitely times when the grind seemed chunky
    • But I always prefer a finer grind, so I choose the finest setting and it grinds my beans fine enough
    • When it feeds into the filter it piles up on one side, so I have to wait until the grinding is done to shake the grounds in the filter level
    • Since I read the comments in Amazon before making a buying decision, here's what I've determined after owning this for several months: - is it loud when grinding? absolutely.
    • It is kinda loud while grinding, and it is a bit slow in making the coffee, but those are minor flaws I can easily live with.
    • Still rather loud when grinding for a conical burr grinder.
    • The Krups seems to do a nicer job at consistent grinding
    • I read all the instructions I wanted to grind my beans into strong coffee I chose fine grind and the strong setting for 10 cups four
    • Nothing beats the smell and taste of a fresh ground cup of coffee every morning!
    • After a month, the grinder slows grinding until its not spinning no more
    • In my quest for a decent grind and brew, I found many were quite flawed because they broke or jammed easily, they were hard to clean and required in depth cleaning often, or were cheaply made with inferior plastic parts.
    • My only complaint is that the finest grind setting is not quite fine enough
    • The kind of fresh beans that give an amazing grind and a resultant pot of coffee that almost takes you to the mountainside groves themselves
    • Not one ground was astray, the carafe allows you to actually use it to fill the water tank, and the cleaning is a breeze
    • We love a grind and brew coffee maker and this one is perfect for our needs.
    • I’m happy to finally have a grind and brew machine that works right
    • It was very easy to set up, and other than hearing the weird grinding noise unexpectedly in the morning - it all worked as expected.
    • It's almost there, but I prefer an even finer grind
    • enjoying our fresh ground coffee in the morning
    • No difference is coarse or fine grind.
    • The reasons why I don't recommend it: the finest grind setting is relatively coarse, about 1/4 of the grounds are not
    • The grinder, on the other hand, purred like a well-honed machine--it would have made great ground coffee that could never have been brewed
    • Grind feature broke in 2 weeks after using once a day, motor makes noise
    • There are more durable grind and brew machines on the market that last much longer
    • So now we have an $80 Krupps coffee machine that we paid $130 for and we are back to grinding out coffee in the evening and having OK coffee in the morning instead of amazing fresh ground, fresh brewed coffee that we have built our relationship around for the past month
    • My only objection is that when I set the coffee strength to strong, it isn't as strong as I like.
