The machine itself is nice and easy-to-use and makes a pleasant batch of coffee, but it is nowhere near as robust as older models

This machine has pros and cons, but wow, do the negatives far outweigh any of the positives

This machine has a serious design flaw — some of the grinds don’t make it all the way into the basket for brewing.

The Krups Grind and Brew coffeemaker with a burr grinder is excellent, and the only machine with a built in grinder that grinds the beans fine enough and makes coffee strong enough for my taste.

Two things would make this a perfect machine for our family: 1) a thermal carafe, and 2) a 12 cup coffee maker rather than 10 cups

Bottom Line: If you are okay with weak coffee, then this machine will suffice

Having used grind and brew machines since the mid-90's, this machine is far, far superior to the old Cuisinart and Black Decker machines in terms of daily clean up

I would have rated this coffee maker 5 stars because it is a wonderful machine; however, we have been using it for approximately three weeks and so far the coffee grinder has not functioned on three occasions which is extremely frustrating

and it is still working perfectly with no problems it has proven to be a good solid machine for a household with 3 heavy coffee drinkers with up to 3 pots a day being brewed.

I can tell you after over two years of continuous daily use that this machine is still going strong without any issues

A great burr grinder and a good drip coffee machine

The swing out unit that holds the filter basket has a couple of rather large design flaws that have not plagued the other grind and brew type machines I've owned.

Our diagnosis of the problem is this: the machine vibrates quite a lot during grinding and we suspect that the vibration might be causing the carafe, which slides very easily around on the hot plate, to shift off the central position it must be in in order to keep the basket open and draining into the carafe

For such a pricey machine, you’d think it would work for longer than a day.

The machine truly trusts the user to know if the machine is ready to make coffee

To make up for this, the machine automatically dumps TONS of coffee into the brew basket which doesnt lead to better coffee or strong coffee

I would recommend this machine, but suggest you actually follow the maintenance and clean the grinder

Update 7/23/20:Machine will stop grinding when opening for coffe grinds gets dirty.

I had hopes that Krups had learned something from these failures but this machine is the worst of the lot.

I cleaned the machine, vacuumed both the excess grounds as well as the bean holder, and descaled

Machine works great for grinding and brewing, but replacing twice in two years is not good!

Any mechanical grinding action is going to be loud unless it's encapsulated deeper into the machine or has additional barriers to reduce the sound transmission (I would assume more expensive machines may do that better, but not necessarily a primary consideration when designing a coffee maker

The machine makes delicious coffee every time, whether you grind whole beans or use the basket filter for ground coffee

The machine would not brew or grind a second pot without knocking on the machine

There are plenty of comments like mine where the machine is great in theory, but in reality it is poorly made and does not function

If you do however want to spend $300 or more, then you should get a better machine.

I love the coffee machine but it stoped working just today after one year of use.

The machine looks beautiful and works like a dream.

I can honestly say the Cuisinart is a superior machine and will remain my main coffee maker.

The grinder function did not work as we thought it should.

The old filters don't fit flush into the recess for amoeba shaped pod of charcoal ... guess we'll see if it floats up out of its well as it gets used.... also, I thought I saw a drain hole in the top of the handle, but mistook the depression at the top of the handle and it holds water when you use the dishwasher to clean the carafe (even though the directions say to hand wash - who does that?

Every morning we can have coffee at home that almost as good as if we bought it at a coffee shop

My only objection is that when I set the coffee strength to strong, it isn't as strong as I like.
