I finally got it to a reasonable taste by selecting 6 cups to grind and adding filling to four and a half line.-The lid on the water compartment has to be manipulated to stay shut, but doesn't affect the operations

The automatic freshly ground coffee tastes very good everyday.

two-hour heating plate option can't, as far as I tell, be reset (in the older one, I just hit no grind and reset it for two hours)-Biggest complaint: getting right taste is trial and error, especially for lower cup variants (2, 4)

It doesn't actually wet most of the ground coffee, or steep the grounds in hot water at all, so most of the excessive grounds are wasted and you only get the poor taste of the first partial low-temperature flush.- Very thin plastic - not good quality at all

Brewing is fairly quick, and taste is good

I also ordered the replacement thermal carafe as I hate the taste of scorched coffee from the Krups unit.

I love the machine, the taste of the coffee is perfect for me, I never want more a other coffee machine.

As long as the coffee isn't weak-tasting or super concentrated, I'm good with it.

- so, I will drill a small hole through it like I did on the earlier version to correct that problem.... coffee tasted good on first pot... hoping to enjoy this unit for a long time....

When brewing a cup of coffee, the water would get too hot and would not even touch the top 1/4 of the ground beans that had been pushed into the filter from the grinder, resulting in a very weak cup of coffee that tasted burnt every time

It might not be super noticeable if you make a couple of pots a day, but I usually only make coffee at home on the weekends and the first pot tastes awful

The grinder function did not work as we thought it should.

The old filters don't fit flush into the recess for amoeba shaped pod of charcoal ... guess we'll see if it floats up out of its well as it gets used.... also, I thought I saw a drain hole in the top of the handle, but mistook the depression at the top of the handle and it holds water when you use the dishwasher to clean the carafe (even though the directions say to hand wash - who does that?

Every morning we can have coffee at home that almost as good as if we bought it at a coffee shop
