I wanted the classic Jamerson sound

I just bought some and put them on my American Vintage Hotrod Fender Precision (P/J), I had always been hesitant thinking that they may stress the neck too much but nope after adjusting the truss rod the neck is still straight as an arrow, in fact i had to back it off a little the next day

However, if you know what you're doing, you can actually make this characteristic work in your favor, because what the higher tension allows you to do is drop your string height both at the nut, as well as at the bridge saddles, giving you much lower action
