Either it was totally mute, or it would make a nearly silent but super high-pitched whine (like a dog whistle), or it would over-bend and crap out and end up sounding like a fog horn

The only minor complaint is that the chord progression for the top holes is a bit hard to get used to - don't know whether this is just this particular instrument or true for A minor tunes in general.
I bent it back into place, and now it is just as smooth and easy as the 1 and 3 hole draws (which are still a tad tricky--but that's to be expected).So, really fun harmonica
