My kids both enjoyed Lego super hero games from age 3 or

The sheer number of Marvel characters is amazing, as is the jaw-dropping beauty and complexity of the levels (seriously, they are so intricately designed that I shudder to think how much time was spent designing them).Not only are the campaign levels superb in their own right, but the open-world nature of New York has a VERY strong Lego City vibe (that is not a bad thing).

I have played all the LEGO games available on the Wii and DS/3DS.

No blood or gore (no "death" - characters just break up into Lego pieces and reform) - Great multi-player action

Another improvement Lego Marvel brings is that there are actually several optional levels that you can unlock around the city, each taking place inside one of New York's buildings, whereas prior Lego titles only had one bonus level at the end of the game

My son says this game is not his favorite Lego game; he likes the Lego City Underground much more and he thinks the Legos Star Wars has more challenges and is more exciting.
