I was able to link the leviton product to google assistant, so I can do voice commands just as easy as my wink devices, but away from home, I have to use 2 apps.

but I go to -6 stars because I keep having to disable and reenable the Leviton skill in Alexa every few days in order to get it and two other Leviton smart home devices to connect

I liked this device so well that I just ordered a second one.

They’re not the cheapest device but sure fun to play with

Once in a while, the app shows a red witless sign indicating the device is not reachable

The device is attractive and seems solidly built.

This device is not cheap, but it is the only Smart-plug I found which also acts as a dimmer control.

The other smart devices in the home continue to function, so this makes no sense to me.

Does not reconnect by itself if there is any kind of blip in your wifi or internet super annoying have to manually reconnect everytime, all of my other smart devices instantly reconnect by themselves

In the Google Home app, you can search compatible devices by brand name and then it discovers the Leviton devices from there

However, most of my smart devices do not require my Alexa to learn a new skill but this one does

this is the item you want if you want a smart device to link to alexa

Same wifi network, forget all devices, disable the skill, update the firmware on the switch, re-enable, rediscover, no change.

The requirement of initial setup on a 3rd party app is common to most of the smart devices

This device works fine until you want to use it with alexa.

It turns out that the issue was the device that I was using.

I feel like these smart devices are marketed to people with homes and personal routers

I clicked on this and the LED blinked different colors for a few seconds to show that I had enrolled the correct device.

I am sold on Levition and their products, all of my future smart devices will be Leviton
