    Lexicon 1.60 x 6.50 x 6.75 inches (Alpha)

    • Proprietary drivers from manufacturers can be poorly written meaning they have compatibility problems depending on one's specific combination of hardware, audio software, sound card, and OS
    • Horrible driver issues...sux on any windows
    • Its very simple to use, drivers are easy to install and it has a̷̐ nice qulity for home
    • As opposed to Windows, as soon as I hooked it up and rebooted my Linux box, the proper drivers were immediately found, downloaded and installed, all in the blink of an eye, and I didn't do a single thing.
    • But m-audio's extensive and well-organized knowledge base led me right to the problem: I had downloaded the most current drivers and installed them *after* I installed the older ones from the disc that came with the solo
    • Useless device - am going to try out others like Tascam (which I hate for not providing right drivers and support for legacy) and focusrite
    • I bought 3 of them - different models - and they all had horrible driver problems and died quickly.
    • I use this driver with the Lexicon Alpha on a Win7 Pro 64-bit platform and it has worked flawlessly, even on some software not designed to use ASIO (though it took some work to get the driver settings right!).I would also note that the power capability of some USB ports might be an issue, requiring external USB power
    • :DThe Lexicon Alpha audio interface works as advertised using the well known ASIO4ALL universal device driver
    • I had no DvD Rom, so I went to the lexicon website, and they let me download all the correct drivers
    • Setting up the product was just an easy driver install from the included CD.
    • I understand that driver is some kind of work-around instead of a direct driver, so the Alpha ASIO driver was invaluable to me.
    • I know i have the right drivers, and also tried with asio4all
    • had this for a few years now, worked best on windows xp , the newer drivers for windows 7 were terrible and gave me
    • The ASIO driver that came with it gave me zero latency, which I needed because Direct X gave me an annoying echo.
    • Acknowledged as one of the best such drivers is the free ASIO4All
    • I use this driver with the Lexicon Alpha on a Win7 Pro 64-bit platform and it has worked flawlessly, even on some software not designed to use ASIO (though it took some work to get the driver settings right!).I would also note that the power capability of some USB ports might be an issue, requiring external USB power
    • Also works as a D-to-A for monitoring or if you want to hook your laptop to a PA system
    • If I had money to burn I'd definitely go for something higher-end, but on my budget this box now works fine
    • , I'll probably get another, even though they're out of stock, seeing as I damaged mine.
