The top and front have a smooth glossy finish and the bottom and sides have a textured ribbed look.

Needed a read/writer with own power supply for more speed, Solidly built, looks nice in its black gloss finish and gets the job done, not like the slow flimsy usb slim drives which to me always seem cheaply made
