Like a few other reviewers have said, the volume is far too low to hear anything over ambient noise unless you're in a very quiet room.

In full disclosure, the first unit I had had a huge issue but LilGadgets very quickly resolved the issue and I am extremely satisfied with my overall experience and would recommend this unit.
Needless to say my one daughter was dis-appointed, but the other was thrilled -- but ordered another one and returned the defective unit.
I'm going to give it 5 Stars even though 1 of them was defective -- unfortunately the defective unit only would play sound out of 1 of the headphones speakers.
