• Reviews around nas (3.41 of 5)

LinkStation 210 2TB Personal Cloud Storage with Hard Drives Included

    • Overall, I found the LinkStation 420 to be a user friendly, full functioned NAS for my home network, and I am very happy with how quiet and fast it runs.
    • It also has some good features for such a cheap NAS, like iTunes, DLNA, Web & FTP support
    • So basically its more like a Usb hard drive that uses Ethernet than a proper Nas
    • You get pretty much all you will get for a more expensive NAS like a Netgear or a Seagate but better
    • this NAS is very slow, so it's not worth it, for what I'm using it right now (as a suivellance camera recording) it does the job.
    • I would recommend either spending more money to get a good Nas or save money and get a External HDD.
    • So i overlooked all bad reviews and take the chance with LS421DE, it arrived on time it is true, even though Buffalo claims this NAS to perform 100MBs the box does say 80MBs, box is quite small and the NAS itself is quite compact, it only weight 4 pounds which was perfect for me
    • Great NAS overall when fully setup
    • , that's never a NAS' strong suit, especially not in the Home-User demographic.
    • Nice nas ....snap to set up
    • Most other NAS available in the market are much better in the software
    • Great NAS, much better than the prior Linkstation LS units I have.
    • Absolutely near perfect NAS
    • When it works its great but this is the most unreliable NAS I've come across
    • It is the fastest inexpensive NAS Server I have owned.
    • The good news is that this is good value for money, is easy to set up in a basic form, and works well as a relatively fast NAS.
    • The good news is that this is good value for money, is easy to set up in a basic form, and works well as a relatively fast NAS.
    • For NAS drives I recommend you get at least Western Digital RED series drives.http://www.amazon.com/WD-Red-NAS-Hard-Drive/dp/B008JJLW4M/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1417757476&sr=1-1&keywords=western+digital+red
    • At this price point, I recommend it to anyone who needs a personal cloud NAS
    • In conclusion the integrated fan, gigabit ethernet connection and management interface make this Buffalo Linkstation a very good Cloud NAS.
    • It looks like it will be a good NAS with decent features (iTunes server
    • Otherwise fantastic NAS
    • the Buffalo NAS did not work as it was supposed or meant to be, it was not able to access the data once one of the disks failed.
    • Even some of the more expensive Buffalo NAS's have much better software.
    • Looking at the new spec sheets you would think that Buffalo addressed the major concerns about their previous generation of budget friendly, consumer-grade NAS.
    • In 8 months , this NAS broke and stopped working
    • This is a very affordable NAS.
    • I highly recommend this Buffalo NAS for home use.
    • If you're looking for a decent NAS to host simple files and don't need it to work more than 75% of the time then go for it
    • This is a really good NAS solution
    • my NAS project dead in the water
    • I've been using Buffalo Technology's Link Station 420 Network Attached Storage Device for several weeks now, and find that it is quite a nice NAS for streaming, backups and storage at a good price
    • I think it is a very decent little NAS if all you need is some network shares
    • Works fine as an NAS, which is the only reason I give it two stars
    • It Is normal for this level of NAS (cheap)
    • Overall, this is a great NAS for home and small office use with manywonderful features that work without hipupps (except when connected toairport)
    • And finally, if you start with an unformatted drive, this NAS may refuse to format the drive
    • when it worked- NAS un-discoverable (and web interface forever down) soon afterwards
    • working great! great nas
    • The Linkstation did everything that I asked it to do, and seems a solid, fast home NAS solution.
    • This is an awesome NAS station
    • This is an appalling NAS that appears to have been hastily thrown together and released without much consideration for the end user.
    • With 500GB to be transferred from the Ready NAS and about a terabyte to be transferred from the Seagate Central both of which are Ethernet wired, I am seeing transfer speeds of less than 1MB/s, far under performance I have experienced with either of the two source devices for backups or copying
    • Like all NAS drives the best performance will be had over a wired (not wireless) network
    • For those wondering if a NAS at this price point is going to work for
    • Well, this NAS offers all the solutions I need, and I amvery satisfied
    • the product failed after a short period, both the hard rive and the NAS, 2
    • I'd rather have 2 NAS like this one and having a double back-up then putting $800-1200 in a multibay NAS with Raid"x"
    • I consider myself an expert on computer tech, but despite hours of attempts I was unable to get the NAS to work as well
    • UPDATE, 10/20/2016: Still working flawlessly as our home office NAS, using the same two older WD RE3's
    • I'll be over $700 into the project with nothing to show for it but a stack of drives on my desk and a worthless Buffalo NAS in the closet.
    • least expensive ($200-) diskless 4-bay nas chassis i could find
    • this NAS is perfect for my needs.
    • Summary: I much prefer the Seagate Central 2TB Personal Cloud Storage NAS; this one is too complex to control and did not provide Internet access
    • This is a cheap basic NAS solution.
    • literally everything still dlna dies 2 minutes after I turn it on, also my oppo player cannot browse the files directly on this nas for some reason, any other nas or file share on October would work, with this linkstation is just freezes
    • But reliability means you don't rely on luck.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------For the specifications, this NAS is not performing well at all.
    • Acronis backed up to it just fine and even booting with the Acronis boot flash drive, the NAS was accessible
    • A NAS that cannot rebuild a RAID 1 array when it has two drives of the same type and size in it is not helpful
    • The WD nas used to lag a little sometimes when playing bluray mkv files , with
    • NAS).This NAS is a DLNA server (with "Twonky") , working very well for my DNLA client og my LG Blue-Ray player
    • Great NAS station
    • Everything worked as it should.
    • You may be happy with this unit, as it's not so much bad as not to my liking.
    • This item works as it should it's iPhone app still hasn't been updated to work with iOS 7
    • Documentation for Apple device and Mac users seems straightforward, but many non-Apple users may find they will need to do a bit of independent research in order to get the device to work as it should.
    • It would never get 5 because of the cheap plastic constructions, but if everything else worked as it should, I would have rated it higher.
    • For my smaller music files it was more like 35MB/s
    • Copying to the USB 3.0 external hard drive speed is merely a few M/s, even slower than IX2 that has only USB 2.0.
    • From PC to NAS over GigE, it was a steady 55MB/s according to Windows
