-
Very disappointed in the product, primarily due to the poor software/firmware of the device
-
Their software is awful and poor
-
The software is clunky as well, like it has windows come up asking if you really want to leave a page when the button you hit has nothing to do with leaving a page (say no, and it goes ahead & does what you asked it to do).
-
First the software install had an issue because the software is 32bit and macs prefer 64 bit software.
-
The main problem is the software
-
Built-in torrent software works like a charm
-
I have not used the free backup software because I am not yet comfortable with the Privacy statement
-
Again, a software problem
-
Software is a little confusing in places but overall extremely reliable with fast file copy rates, consistently getting 50 to 60 MB per second (yes megabytes not mega bits)
-
Starting the device its a bit slow, the software it's easy to intall i had some trouble with it since my antivirus software blocks it
-
Even some of the more expensive Buffalo NAS's have much better software.
-
The bad:The software is not intuitive , it has regular settings and also advanced setting which really don't make any sense it should have only one set of settings with a simple interface and an easier way to update the firmware
-
The software for this box is very limited and has a lot of bugs.
-
I recently had one of the drives fail in the the array, and when I swapped out the failed drive with a same size replacement, the software was unable to recreate the RAID array and add the new drive.
-
The software needs work.
-
First and foremost, the proprietary software that Buffalo uses for this is incredibly obsolete

-
Also, the software is all but useless and really doesn't do much for me other than notify me that the NAS is there.
-
The software is a bit confusing in its interface, and I sometimes had to enter the password I had configured several times, but it did work
-
The software is primitive and buggy.
-
Works great but software is tricky and hard to set up.
-
Now they want me to obtain 3rd party test hardware and software, setup a work bench in my home and run more testing because they do not trust their own software.
-
I ended up going with another brand (WD) primarily for the user-friendly software and consistent updates.
-
Or at least I wasn't after wrestling Buffalo's archaic software for six hours
-

-
The software running on the LinkStation seems out of date since it recommends Internet Explorer Ver
-
Software is woefully lacking.
-
Poor software/firmware on an NAS that never really worked.
-
Decent storage space, great interface software, and the ability to mirror drives.
-
Random software crashes, NO automatic hard drive spin down (hibernation)
-
Dinky software interface that needs to be updated
-
As far as their support goes, each time I have spoken with guys in the US that have a pretty good understanding of the unit, but not enough to overcome their TERRIBLE SOFTWARE.
-
I kept on being told -"you need to talk to your internet service provider" .... useless device, poor software design and utter waste of time -- I returned the box to Amazon
-
At this point neither the web interface nor Buffalo's software will not help - neither can issue a reboot command - and it has to have the power pulled from it to get back to anything resembling service
-
Great storage capacity and a good software utility included
-
For my smaller music files it was more like 35MB/s
-
Copying to the USB 3.0 external hard drive speed is merely a few M/s, even slower than IX2 that has only USB 2.0.
-
From PC to NAS over GigE, it was a steady 55MB/s according to Windows
-
Everything worked as it should.
-
You may be happy with this unit, as it's not so much bad as not to my liking.
-
This item works as it should it's iPhone app still hasn't been updated to work with iOS 7
-
Documentation for Apple device and Mac users seems straightforward, but many non-Apple users may find they will need to do a bit of independent research in order to get the device to work as it should.
-
It would never get 5 because of the cheap plastic constructions, but if everything else worked as it should, I would have rated it higher.
