I find this unit very quiet, small and easy to have on my hard drive.

For 3 days they tried to get remote access to attached usb hard drive to no success

I wouldn't even bother trying to connect a hard drive via usb for extra storage.

The router refused to even notice I had connected a hard drive via usb--which is surprising because usb and hard drives are so old tech.

Downside - it will not make a hard drive a network hard drive or a printer a network printer.

Really should just have a cheap USB drive or something to install the app

I tried a couple of usb sticks which worked just fine, but that's only good for sharing files, not real online storage like a hard drive

The D-Link works fine, and I now have full network functionality as well as internet connectivity.
