Linksys N300 Wi-Fi Wireless Router with Linksys Connect Including Parental Controls & Advanced Settings (E1200)

    • I've tried disabling WMM support, and that does nothing
    • After some googling, I discovered that disabling WMM Support in the router (under the "Applications & Gaming > QOS" menu) fixed the problem
    • After reading the reviews for this router, someone suggested turning off WMM which boosted their speed even more
    • I did take the internet forum recommendation and disabled WMM which tries to prioritize media traffic, which could slow it down, but since i'm not really concerned with that prioritization I turned it off.
    • I went "Applications & Gaming"/QOS and disabled WMM as people have mentioned and it did have a bit of an impact on the speed, but not the super amount I expected.
    • this point, I could have re-installed the original Linksys firmware for the router, and tested whether disabling WMM Support would fix the network stability issues.
    • Also, R. Palm's review about disabling WMM Support is spot on.
