CISCO CONNECT CLOUD is a TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE idea - STAY AWAY!!

I am using Cisco Connect Cloud, i am comfortable with my security and privacy settings and love the CCC interface on my iPad and Chrome Browser.

The iPhone APP is a neat tool and look forward to the release of the Cisco Connect Cloud (Summer 2012).

I must admit though it was fairly easy, the thing that took most of my time was trying to tackle and avoid downloading CCC during its initial setup -- which seemed to be running on a fairly new but not the latest non-Cisco connect cloud firmware, other than that everything is up and running as we speak

After getting the router up and working I made the upgrade to Cisco Connect Cloud, because I don't really have a choice if I want to stay current with the router firmware

Even worse, the Connect Cloud firmware was forced on consumers without their approval or consent

Cisco Connect Cloud is a nightmare

My next step in this journey is to find a way to remove Cisco Connect Cloud from my router and downgrade to the previous firmware

One is more full featured, and called "Cisco Connect Cloud", which requires you to log in like you would in a browser.

The new firmware attempts to force online registration for Cisco Connect Cloud while connected to the Internet

What this means is that in order for you to access your OWN router, you have to register through the Cisco Connect Cloud and abide to their terms and conditions which include DATA MINING, INTERNET HISTORY BROWSING and a bunch of other agreement terms.

If you do not agree to sign up terms for Cisco Connect Cloud, the router will be crippled

Automatic firmware update on 06/26/12 which adds Cisco Connect Cloud makes this router a poor choice for those who manage their router settings manually and also removes security features including the ability to disable wireless SSID broadcast and Unsecured Guest broadcast if you choose not to register for Cisco Connect Cloud

There is an option in the config to disallow remote access to Cisco Connect Cloud, but the benefits of that would be unavailable to you

Logging into Cisco Connect Cloud is roundabout and clumsy

Last, and most important, CISCO CONNECT CLOUD IS AWESOME!

I've had this router about 45 days and has worked great UNTIL Cisco/Linksys moved to a new FW version (v2.1.+) that now implements the "Cisco Connect Cloud
