Linksys N900 Wi-Fi Wireless Dual-Band+ Router with Gigabit & USB Ports, Smart Wi-Fi App Enabled to Control Your Network from Anywhere (EA4500)

    • Love the Parent Control feature
    • One great feature that stands out is I put time of day restrictions on my kids wireless devices.
    • I was replacing an older Lynksis router that was works fine but does not have some of the modern features such as guest access and connection to the cloud.
    • After a month the Smart Wifi feature would not allow me to access it for control
    • This router has fast WIFI as I have multiple WIFI devices connected to, and out of all of the routers that I know of Linksys routers have the best firewall features.
    • they tout some pretty good hardware features, (good signal strengnth, USB connect, dual band, etc.
    • The E4200 also has a dumbed-down Parental Control feature (apparently, Cisco thinks that parents aren't smart enough to use the more sophisticated Access Control feature) that only allows the user to specify "school night" or "weekend night," does not allow the user to enter MAC addresses that are to be restricted, requires devices to be connected in order to add them to the restricted list, and lacks other useful features that the Access Restriction feature has
    • Easy to set up and had some neat features.
    • It wasted so much of my time with dropping connections and stupid smart wifi feature
    • The Cloud Connect feature (now called Smart Wifi) is awful
    • The only good feature is the range
    • I like the "guest" feature.
    • (standard these days, but still a nice feature to mention.)I see there is a guest feature (that I have not yet used) but this will be nice if they expire so my kids won't be giving he SSID to the world forcing me to change it as often for the internal network.
    • Outstanding signal and features, works great when paired with my new Cisco Docsis 3.0 modem
    • Great features and informative on connection page etc
    • I absolutely love the features for this router
    • This is highly recommended if you would want to increase the speed, security, stronger wider wireless range and add more cool features
    • However, Router management via iPhone,iPad is another great feature
    • I never like giving out my password, so the router generally will create randomized passwords for the guest account (typically including some sort of fruit in the password, which I found humorous)NAS-type (Network attached storage) features with an external hard drive work great when it isn't corrupting your hard drive
    • I know I can down grade the firmware to the old version to get all of the advanced setting and features back, but you also lose Cloud features in doing so
    • Port Forwarding PortsVPN Tunneling you can disable this feature if you don't use it
    • and I was able to do all the cool setup features without any issues or crashes
    • Cisco Cloud Connect is a neat (optional) feature that will let you access the device via internet connection
    • I like the feature which allows you to give guests a temporary password without disclosing your permanent password.
    • Unfortunately, this feature is flawed.
    • I liked the additional guest features.
    • they have a mobile app that let's you access your settings easily, as well as a nice guest account feature with a separate changeable password.it's great!
    • However, with cheaper devices selling for under $100 that offer that same basic functionality, it is disappointing that the EA4500 does not have more refined advanced features.
    • This is a great feature
    • If you're using an old router with bittorrent, the amount of users connected to your router will not support newer tech features like "trackerless" torrents
    • My main beef is that some features you take for granted are not there, or are missing outright
    • The most important feature is The range since we have a multilevel
    • This router administration is so easy (point/click) and I love the Prioritization feature where I can preference the home office working remote laptops over the families causal use machines by simply dragging and dropping an icon representation of each device (connected or not) to 1 of 2 priority areas
    • I enjoyed the guest network, it's a cool feature, very handy when you or the kids have guests
    • That's a great feature for guests at your house.
    • This was not a setback, but it was a nice feature of the Netgear
    • The features are nice such as game priorities and user priorities
    • It wasted so much of my time with dropping connections and stupid smart wifi feature
    • Nice feature to go online and see all devices active and inactive.
    • When the wifi is working, it's a valuable feature
    • It_IS_Fast - I have two of them in remote locations, remote access thru the web is a great feature.
    • The E4200 also has a dumbed-down Parental Control feature (apparently, Cisco thinks that parents aren't smart enough to use the more sophisticated Access Control feature) that only allows the user to specify "school night" or "weekend night," does not allow the user to enter MAC addresses that are to be restricted, requires devices to be connected in order to add them to the restricted list, and lacks other useful features that the Access Restriction feature has
    • ProsStable, good wireless performance, easy configuration, many features
    • Do not recommend enabling prioritization feature -- it can be a bottleneck for all of your traffic.
    • Pros: love the "smart" features and the super easy set up via the linksys smart wifi site and app
    • , Amazon sold me a 2 year old router that doesn't support this feature, which had been repackaged into a box that says it does
    • they tout some pretty good hardware features, (good signal strengnth, USB connect, dual band, etc.
    • Setup was simple, the app is a nice feature and the antenna is strong.
    • Linksys has great quality and features
    • Linksys has always made great networking hardware, but they have separated themselves from all the other good hardware out there with the awesome (and wordy) feature called Cisco Connect Cloud
    • This router has a lot of nice features
    • This new feature is revolutionary for the home router market, and as a result has created a lot of controversy
    • user)There is a nice feature for simple home users, where you can just get the PIN off of the device and enter that instead of the security key to add a device to the network.
    • The minute you put this AP in bridge mode it is as dumb as a rock and you lose all the extra features that would warrant this price point
    • Great features that are quick to setup and easy to use
    • This Linksys router offers many nice features, easy to connect devices and configure them like cameras
    • My old Belkin Wireless router/hub has more functionality and is more feature rich than this device.
    • While it's not the sexiest feature, I like the ability to "detail" every device that connects to your network.
    • Here's the issues I have found since using it:-QoS feature only allows you to restrict upload data, not download
    • I used the Smart WiFi cloud feature, as it was my first "advanced" router since I was forced to use my mother's Belkin N300 for many years before I moved out for college
    • Powerful feature set, and can be set remotely via mobile phone APP
    • Replacing my Linksys E3000 but it misses some features
    • We may also use this Other Information for traffic analysis (for example, determining when the most customers are using the Service) and to determine which features within the Service are most or least effective or useful to you
    • Much better coverage than my Cisco E-4200 I replaced.
    • If you do not have an internet connection your menu items are severely limited as you are not accessing your router through Ciscos servers.3- PLEASE
    • Works as it should and was a snap to set up.
    • cuz the damn thing just won't reset/restart properly and get back to work as it's supposed to!I'd always had Cisco network devices, but it's all been downhill since I purchased the EA4500
    • My objectives are simple... to be able to access email anywhere in the house as well as on the outside decks/swimming pool area... but forget that
    • Upgraded as we had many wireless devices plus a streaming ROKU player.
    • Their suggestions were inane and lead me to believe that a key selling point may not actually work as
    • I'm not a computer guru by any means but this router works as well as
    • Cisco's CloudConnect online configuration utility is pretty slick; and I like the ability to access the router and manipulate settings remotely via the available iPhone app as well as from any computer anywhere via the Web.
    • After spending an hour trying to get it to work as it should, the technicians from my ISP explained that it worked fine if I plugged my computer directly into the router, otherwise the WiFi worked worse than the ancient router it was supposed to replace.
    • This is kind of embarrassing as I'm a life-long computer guy
    • Had a WRG54T for years and loved it
    • Customer service is HORRIBLE, yes, H O R
    • Much better coverage than my Cisco E-4200 I replaced.
