Linksys N900 Wi-Fi Wireless Dual-Band+ Router with Gigabit & USB Ports, Smart Wi-Fi App Enabled to Control Your Network from Anywhere (EA4500)

    • I've had to use an old $10 G router as a bridge just to get a 2.4 strong signal everywhere in my house.stay far away from this product.
    • I bought this a month ago and the signal is far better than my old Linksys.
    • Great signal strength and works well with PC, iPads, iPhones, XBox, AppleTV connected.
    • I don't get a fantastic signal at the far end of the house, but I get enough to work with.
    • This unit is in the basement and gives clear signal on the third floor (many WiFi devices have good horizontal coverage, but lack in the vertical coverage).
    • If the weak and inconsistent signal can ever be resolved I would be rating this very high because it is a nice product
    • Fast, good signal and seldom needs a reboot, allows to regulate the kids wifi usage right form your pc :o)
    • We installed the unit at the media panel and have a clear signal throughout the house.
    • It is an excellent router, stable, efficient, reliableThe signal is strong, and the configuration is simple because its interface is very friendly
    • It gave slightly stronger signal at the edges of the house
    • Upstairs of my home, at its furthest opposite point it was still a good signal at both 2.4 and 5 ghz
    • This router has good signal strength, but it is a bit of a pain to reset after power outages or brown outs.
    • If you want a high performance router that simultaneously operates on both bands, can easily handle 3 simultaneous signals per band and works with all current standards and devices - then this is the one for you
    • This router, however, projects a strong, fast signal everywhere in my house (3 stories with a basement).
    • golod coverage, and strong signal
    • The device started to become very hot and the wireless signal droping too much
    • great signal coverage at my home
    • Now that the router is running the Ethernet to the NAS seems a lot faster (not 10x faster, but much faster); the wireless signals are stronger throughout the house and obviously faster.
    • I am expecting this model can provide stronger signal, better performance, and longer range for me
    • Even if I go 4 or 5 rooms away from where the router is located (where the Linksys product lost the signal entirely), I still get 23 Mbps, excellent performance.
    • Very weak wireless signal....
    • they tout some pretty good hardware features, (good signal strengnth, USB connect, dual band, etc.
    • they tout some pretty good hardware features, (good signal strengnth, USB connect, dual band, etc.
    • The EA4500 easily found TiVo, laptop (maybe 30 feet away) and got still weak but at least stay connected usable signal in bedroom which varied -70 to -80 db. with a "Fair" 5Mbps link speed.
    • The signal degraded quickly with the Cisco, but the Netgear gives me the same download speeds consistently throughout the house
    • No more signal reception problems in our house.
    • The speed improved and the signals are strong
    • I took my measurements to see what the signal-to-noise ratio looked like
    • but I want to see if the signal from this one is strong enough to reach that side of the house since the one I replaced isn't.
    • I noticed a speed improvement right away, and the signal has been steady and solid since turning it on.
    • No good, signal weak
    • It has good signal strength in the adjacent rooms and the rooms right below it, but the signal is weaker in the far end of the house, which is only 50 feet away
    • I have the router down in the basement and have no problem getting a signal.
    • Never had trouble getting a signal anywhere in the house.
    • I've only lost signal a couple of times but it quickly came back.
    • Bottom line is I like the EA4500, easy set up, no problems and did send out stronger signal than Netgear 750, but needed the repeater to really boost the signal in far bedroom.
    • (the environment isnt hot)The signal at first installation was good
    • the signal was inconsistent.
    • Great signal even in different room and floor.
    • Hoped the EA4500 would provide a more usable signal.
    • Poor signal range ... reboots every time
    • Outstanding signal and features, works great when paired with my new Cisco Docsis 3.0 modem
    • Outstanding signal and features, works great when paired with my new Cisco Docsis 3.0 modem
    • Wireless router supplied by my cable company wasn't able to send good enough signal for my Samsung smart TV that is located five rooms away
    • They stayed to make sure we had good phone signal, good TV signal (& took care of a channel programming issue on the spot), and excellent wireless signal
    • The signal was bad, and dropped frequently.
    • I replaced my old router because movies were being interrupted due to a weak signal.
    • Strong-ish signal
    • The signal is strong, fast, and consistent
    • This one installed easily and has a great signal.
    • There's no place in my house that doesn't have a strong signal anymore
    • We have a split level - Router is in 3rd level room - receive a good strong signal in our 1st level room.
    • This router has the power to give us a strong signal on all 3 floors of our townhouse
    • n signal is great so far.
    • why my old Belkin 150N has the same signal strength like my new (and priced) router?
    • Right now the signal in that room is still good enough to stream video without a hiccup, but I want to make it stronger for the smart TV and gaming equipment.
    • It has good signal strength in the adjacent rooms and the rooms right below it, but the signal is weaker in the far end of the house, which is only 50 feet away
    • No good, signal weak
    • I should not have had to spend several hours each night for a week to try and get a reliable signal.
    • I should have a solid signal through the whole home
    • In my quest for a solution, I found that signal repeaters, which loose 50% of the speed, was not the answer.
    • For example, an older technology router that failed but was rated at a third the speed worked better with my Roku and Apple TV because it produced a better signal
    • and I can get a usable signal everywhere that I need it to be
    • My router is in the basement and the Netgear signal was too weak to even reach the main level consistently.
    • So, why my 2.4Ghz signal drop like that
    • I was constantly loosing signal or no signal at all when using
    • Every room in my 2 floor house has a strong signal, which was not the case with the older router
    • Good quality overall, good range, excellent signal strength, easy to install and manage.-CONS: Smart Apps only available for iOS/Apple devices, only a few of them are Available on Android and none of them is available for Windows Phone 8.I got a 4500 recently, the installation was easy and painless overall, i am not gonna repeat everything that other reviewers already addressed but simply going to say that this router is of an excellent build quality, i bought it mainly because my old netgear did not have the muscle to make the wireless signal available in my daughter's room which is kind of at the edge of the
    • I live in a 2 story home and bought the EA4500 especially for N band to have a better and faster signal on the 2nd floor.
    • there are no external antenna, which may be part of the signal strength and range issue.
    • Months later good signal but the router keeps dropping the signal on heavy downloads such as Netflix, unit requires a reboot at least once a month now.
    • on the 5 ghz side, it shows the signal as not so strong, yet my data on my phone chugs fast when i set it to have JUST that frequency
    • Easy to set up but signal isn't as strong as I wanted and hoped for.
    • Speed is slow, signal is intermitent, and the warranty of 30 days has expired so now I will have to trash it.
    • But, bottom line, the signal is WEAK, and drops connections all the time
    • Once the Linksys was installed, I could get a strong signal even up to the second floor bedroom.
    • We needed a stronger signal and decided to upgrade to the EA4500 and are very glade we did.
    • outstanding radio's, some of the strongest long range signal I've ever used
    • This router is faster and offers a much stronger signal.
    • I get perfect signal on both floors and wired connections to my more important devices
    • They had great signal strength, but showed a poor Internet Speed Test (on 3 Mbps vs 50 Mbps in the Bedroom).
    • We live in a single level apartment that's only about 1030 sq feet, and despite our devices reading the strongest wifi signal in every corner of the place, the connection will still time out fairly regularly once we no longer have line of sight with the router
    • This unit claims to boost wireless signal
    • Strong signal
    • Both have POWERFUL signals and plenty of distance (goodbye range extender!!).
    • The EA4500 was easy to set up (full disclosure, I am a career geek and retired CIO), and the signal is very strong throughout my whole house and on the lanai (Floridian for screened-in patio)
    • I expected the signal to be more susceptible to interference from walls and such, as that's normal for higher frequency signals.
    • Strong signal.
    • Great signal, but I have still problem with my signal on my dinner room, but to tell you the truth all my walls are made of bricks and concrete
    • Worked fine in the same room with the router but often could not join the network from a room 25 feet away even though it recognized the network was there and the signal seemed good.
    • Signal still weak - as noted by others, NetGear router, tho older, smashed this re: range / signal strength
    • In desperation, I modified an old WRT54G router to act as a repeater, to give me enough signal to work with.
    • This router gives a good strong signal throughout my house
    • This one ended up having very poor signal strength in most areas of my house and still kept locking up every couple days and requiring a reboot.
    • When I plugged it in I was having trouble setting it up because I couldn't get a strong signal from our upstairs bedroom to our family room
    • understand that 5Ghz signals have greater difficulty penetrating walls and other obstacles than the more common 2.4Ghz band, but I am sitting in a room adjacent to my router as I right this review
    • This is even more exaggerated if you use a range extender, which is amplifying a weak wireless signal.
    • about 18 Mbps in the next room, and then if I moved more than 2 rooms away, the signal dropped to 1 Mbps, or was lost entirely).
    • The 5ghz band has much weaker signal strength than the 2.4ghz band, so even those few newer devices that can see the 5ghz do better on the other band
    • I have a 4300 s.f. house on one level, and the signal is excellent in most of the house, and it's fair to good in some of the far corners.
    • Even out on the sidewalk, I still get a good signal
    • Good signal throughout the house.
    • It's a pity the signal couldn't have been stronger.
    • It loses signal when it rain also, even when it's hardwired
    • I highly recommended for anyone who wants a reliable router and wider signal
    • and I loose my signal
    • But few days ago they drop signal to -51, like my old Belkin 150N. All in 2.4Ghz network.(i dont have 5Ghz device here right now to test)Ive changed network channels, channel width, factory reset
    • The signal was SIGNIFICANTLY stronger.
    • My current ISP provides me with a great 100mb/s up and down
    • so it appears as "down" as far as the cloud management s/w is concerned
    • To anyone reading my review, please see my update at the bottom of this page as I no longer have confidence in this device, nor can I recommend this product to anyone.**************************************************************************************************************************************************I purchased this router a year ago to replace our aging WRT54g after we moved into our home last year and we needed a router that could adequately handle both our wireless needs for our laptops, Roku boxes, iPhones, iPads, and Kindles, but also handle our MoCa based wired Ethernet network that has one media server, a desktop
    • The 54G also didn't support address reservation in any convenient way, so the networked printers all used DHCP.
    • At the end of the day all I've got a $200 single band 5g N router and a headache.
    • Have had the old reliable WRT54 g router for several years with lots of success and no glitches
    • I used to have a super reliable WRT54G that I loved, kept it for years, bought the 160n with good results as well, and then all went to pot
    • I then laid my palm on the surface of where it sat and the temp was at least three times hotter than my old black & blue Linksys G router -- hot like in 150F burning inferno hot
    • I purchased it new on Amazon, but Apple told me it was actually 4 - 6 years old, NOT an N class & NOT secure
    • If you do not have an internet connection your menu items are severely limited as you are not accessing your router through Ciscos servers.3- PLEASE
    • Works as it should and was a snap to set up.
    • cuz the damn thing just won't reset/restart properly and get back to work as it's supposed to!I'd always had Cisco network devices, but it's all been downhill since I purchased the EA4500
    • My objectives are simple... to be able to access email anywhere in the house as well as on the outside decks/swimming pool area... but forget that
    • Upgraded as we had many wireless devices plus a streaming ROKU player.
    • Their suggestions were inane and lead me to believe that a key selling point may not actually work as
    • I'm not a computer guru by any means but this router works as well as
    • Cisco's CloudConnect online configuration utility is pretty slick; and I like the ability to access the router and manipulate settings remotely via the available iPhone app as well as from any computer anywhere via the Web.
    • After spending an hour trying to get it to work as it should, the technicians from my ISP explained that it worked fine if I plugged my computer directly into the router, otherwise the WiFi worked worse than the ancient router it was supposed to replace.
    • This is kind of embarrassing as I'm a life-long computer guy
    • Not to mention absolutely ease of installation, I have never in my life installed a router l so quickly, easily, and headache free!I Recommend this to anybody who's looking for a SOLID ROUTER, a Top-of-The-Line Router, AND ROUTER
