Linksys N900 Wi-Fi Wireless Dual-Band+ Router with Gigabit & USB Ports, Smart Wi-Fi App Enabled to Control Your Network from Anywhere (EA4500)

    • I love everything about it especially the smart wifi cloud and apps for it
    • I hate the smart wifi, however, for the price its hard to beat with the speeds it gives.
    • Linksys Smart Wifi is a disaster, and I had to perform a factory reset on the modem in order to log in
    • This router has fast WIFI as I have multiple WIFI devices connected to, and out of all of the routers that I know of Linksys routers have the best firewall features.
    • After a month the Smart Wifi feature would not allow me to access it for control
    • It wasted so much of my time with dropping connections and stupid smart wifi feature
    • The smart wifi configuration is both easy to use for beginners/people that aren't incredibly tech savy, while also offering all the more in depth configuration features that I've found on other more complex routers over the years
    • Terrible wifi issues.
    • But I would not bother with the firmware upgrade that is required to enable 'smart wifi' as it only slows down the administration website - unless you really, really, really want to manage your router remotely from your android tablet.
    • nice router!)To remedy this, I will be purchasing the LinkSys WPC600N CardBus WiFi-N adapter to accomplish this
    • The Smart WiFi is a joke
    • I’m shopping for a new WiFi router and good customer support will be high on the list of requirements.

    • At 4 years and 2 months, the wifi quit working.
    • Terrible wifi issues.
    • First off, don't be seduced by the 'smart wifi' and 'cisco cloud' gimmicks
    • To start off they made a collossal blunder with the Smart-Wifi firmware which half the users dont want
    • otherwise my problems wouldnt be solved, and then once that didnt help i was requested to downgrade to the non-smart wifi firmware because it is more stable
    • But eventually the router showed its evil tendencies and kept disconnecting and I could no longer access the "smart" wifi portal.
    • The smart wifi makes it easy to configure and manage.
    • There is a user-replaceable WiFi card in HP's laptops.
    • The Smart WiFi is a joke
    • The Linksys router is very easy to set up and I have been enjoying wifi at home for several months without any problems.
    • After spending an hour trying to get it to work as it should, the technicians from my ISP explained that it worked fine if I plugged my computer directly into the router, otherwise the WiFi worked worse than the ancient router it was supposed to replace.
    • After that I cannot access the router's Smart WiFi setup.
    • Not because the hardware is bad, it is not, but because the software, Linksys Smart WiFi, is to put it mildly, the most buggy software to ever be released
    • I found that setting up my new EA4200 (N900) router using most current Smart WiFi firmware just doesn't work right
    • Kicking myself for buying this for extra features rather than dependable WiFi -- don't feel I have either.
    • I read the reviews on this router and made note of all of the paranoia concerning the smart wifi application.
    • I get various connection errors through the smart wifi website and clicking OK on any of them cause it to log
    • So then they made a non-smart wifi version of the firmware which you can download from the support site, but they stopped maintaining it and only publish new versions of the smart-wifi one
    • (TO CISCO CLOUD/ SMART WIFI) GET IT CONNECTED TO ALL THE ABOVE DEVICES AND
    • The Cloud Connect feature (now called Smart Wifi) is awful
    • It wasted so much of my time with dropping connections and stupid smart wifi feature
    • When the wifi is working, it's a valuable feature
    • Linksys Smart Wifi is a disaster, and I had to perform a factory reset on the modem in order to log in
    • I hate the smart wifi, however, for the price its hard to beat with the speeds it gives.
    • Pros: love the "smart" features and the super easy set up via the linksys smart wifi site and app
    • It comes with and app called Linksys Smart Wifi
    • BUT THE SMART WIFI IS AWESOME
    • I used the Smart WiFi cloud feature, as it was my first "advanced" router since I was forced to use my mother's Belkin N300 for many years before I moved out for college
    • PS, I'm sure this affects all of the Linksys Smart WiFi routers.
    • This one I have rebooted once via the Smart WiFi interface.
    • Now I have to reboot the router, works for awhile and then its managing site (smart wifi) keeps erring ("you are not connected to the router
    • I simply don't have the emotional strength right now to review all of the back-and-forth with customer service, the time spent searching for answers online, etc, etc, but I will tell you that the "smart" wifi (see what I did there?
    • Smart wifi option has unacceptable bad connectivity, as I cannot access it remotely
    • Now I have to reboot the router, works for awhile and then its managing site (smart wifi) keeps erring ("you are not connected to the router
    • Restored wifi to my devices.
    • Not only does it lose the wifi on a frequent basis requiring a reboot of the device, but even this can require the router to be left unplugged for 20-30 minutes before it will reset its self.
    • I was asked to upgrade to the smart-wifi firmware
    • When I don't, I can't seem to connect to the internet or it's an attempt to resolve the errors that occur on the smart wifi website
    • The Smart WiFi software began downloading everything it needed and recognized my network and allowed me to create an account
    • I used the Smart WiFi cloud feature, as it was my first "advanced" router since I was forced to use my mother's Belkin N300 for many years before I moved out for college
    • You have to download the Firmware upgrade to receive the "Smart WiFi" and use the Cisco Cloud Connect.
