    Little Dot MK2 MKII 6J1 X 2 6N6 X 2 Headphone Amp Amplifier Pre-Amp Tube

    • It came with a bad 6N6 tube
    • The sound of the cheaper tubes provided with the unit are just fine - although I will roll the tubes at some later date.
    • The tubes need a good 70-100 hours of use to 'burn in' so hopefully it will only get better from here.
    • Only complaint about packaging is that they used packing tape to secure the tubes which left sticky residue on them.
    • I am still looking for good tubes for this and have already picked up a cheap, $15, matched pair of the bigger tubes and they sound better than the ones it came with and they were the cheapest ones that I could find that people were suggesting
    • I found a wonderful tube rolling guide on “Head-Fi” that pretty much runs the gamut of options for the Little Dot MK2 and 3.
    • I believe that the LD Mk2 should already sell with good sounding tubes not these chinese crap drivers
    • The Russian and British tubes are not even that expensive on eBay and you will be glad you did
    • Now I also use the Little Dot as a tube buffer as well and I am addicted to the sound and I am planning to buy a tube integrated for vinyl playback
    • Certain tubes work great for certain speakers
    • Certain tubes work great for certain speakers
    • but they do put out a tad less power than the super tubes
    • I chose to stay in the EF95 family to start (the default jumper setting), and picked up some better power tubes (though I haven’t used them yet) and a couple sets of driver tubes (the smaller ones in front that really affect the sound).
    • Little Dot makes a nice tube buffer between various sources
    • Power Tubes: Sovtek 6H30EBpi Super tubes with chrome pins are by far the best power tubes to use and will cost you about $70 for a matched pair
    • The only affordable tube amp that was tubes for the pre-amp and power
    • These two tubes are chinese garbage, the metallic sounding treble gets a tad tamer after some hours of burn in but still junk
    • If anyone knows of some good tubes that work with this amp please let me know.
    • I might come back and edit this review when i receive the better power tubes (larger tubes), it suppose to yield a bit of more output power
    • Then I turned up the volume on one of my fav T swift songs and was SHOCKED at the transformation the song went through upon passing through these vacuum tubes
