Logitech Harmony Smart Control with Smartphone App and Simple All In One Remote - Black

    • Only complaint i have for this product is the hub has to be in the open or it wont work as well, but they included an IR blaster receiver with the package so that solved my problem!
    • The hub works fine, but the basic remote leaves a lot to be desired
    • This Logiitech Harmony (w/ Hub) is a tank and the heart of smart home control, also ties into my other automated apps and processes
    • My new hub was installed this past weekend, and it works flawlessly
    • I use the Logitech Harmony Smart Control hub in conjunction with the Amazon Echo to turn/off my TV.
    • A powerful solution (Harmony Hub) with an almost frighteningly simple mode of operation (Smart Control remote) makes for a winning combination.
    • On this remote as well as on every harmony remote that works with the smart hub (at the time of this review) fast forward shares a button with the skip forward.
    • i like the hub because I can use my smartphone or tablet and not need the physical remote when it's out of reach.
    • The second problem is that the smart hub needs line of sight to all your devices.
    • Place the Hub in general proximity of your devices (it appears that the Hub's IR emitters are sufficiently bright that you don't necessarily need everything to be within line-of-sight -- the included "IR blaster" can help with items that are inside a cabinet)
    • I have had this hub for 5 years and thanks to its updates and app it is still relevant and perfect for my home theater.
    • The remote works fine, but the "smart" hub is a piece of junk.
    • It simply suggests adding more time or moving the hub, despite it working in the set up menu
    • I’ve used this smart hub for a while now
    • My only real complaint is that the hub is not 5Ghz compatible, my phone and tablet are both on my 5Ghz network
    • The hub and the blaster work very well, even with our glitchy directv genie mini receiver
    • It takes some time to understand terminology "Activity" but once you set up it works flawlessly,You can put your hub across the room(make sure it has not interference in between) and it works fine
    • Love the HUB, Hate the remote.
    • However, the hub got confused about which one was a Chromecast Video and a Chromecast Audio and I still haven't figure out how to tell it to distinguish one from the other
    • This hub will probably work fine for many setups, but it was next to useless for my purposes
    • Sometimes the hub is non-responsive
    • It will mess up BOTH hubs
    • (5.1 speakers)Music Long - WD TV Live PlusTV Short - Regular TV from TivoTV Long - Samsung TV's native Smart Hub (Netflix, HBO Go, Amazon Video
    • The hub actually works best across the room from your tv (not next to it).
    • The Hub has no problem communicating with it even on a different shelf.
    • But in case someone buys this hub and runs into one of the below issues, hopefully the following processes will fix the issues for you:PHONE APP CONNECTIVITY ISSUE=============================Some users report that it takes a significant amount of time, when first pulling up the app on their phone, for the app to sync with their wifi network in order to use the app with their devices.
    • The hub frequently loses connection and randomly fails to control previously setup devices.
    • And the hub works well with Bluetooth devices.
    • My only knock on it is that if your wifi goes down, or router reboots, the hub becomes unresponsive until wifi is connected
    • The smart hub has certainly eliminated the use of several remotes for me.
    • Don't buy the smart Hub.
    • I wasn't looking forward to paying for the new models which were pushing $200+Based on my buddy's recommendation, I purchased this Smart Control model with the accompanying 'Smart Hub' and IR blaster for $120
    • I would highly recommend the Hub and the accompanying app
    • I read up on this "Smart Hub" model and it seemed perfect
    • It's extremely disappointing that this hub isn't compatible with 5GHz networks
    • The app refuses to recognize my wireless network (which hasn't changed), and because the app doesn't work, I can't reset the hub and remote to get them working again, either.
    • The hub itself is good
    • I was able to connect more devices to the smart hub than I had expected: TV, Blu-ray player, Xbox, Wii, and AppleTV
    • So yeah, I love this hub and think it's worth $70
    • The hub is very powerful and is able to bounce IR signals without a problem
    • The hub and remote worked very well
    • Setup was a breeze, teaching the hub new commands is easy and the included "eye" covers the only device the hub is unable to "see"
    • I will be returning the "extra" remote but will probably continue to keep the HUB for the smart phone control and limited Alexa support
    • I was skeptical that the hub/IR blaster would be responsive enough, but every command has exceeded my expectations so far
    • The smart Hub allows me to use the remote and not have to point to the devices.
    • Only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to just control my smart hub
    • I have an AV closet with my uverse box, Denon AVR, HDBaseT transmitted and the harmony smart hub (along with other items that superfluous to this discussion).Good- set up was easyBad- and this is the killer, it repeats the channel / volume commands (and others) way too often (both the amount of times it happens and the amount of commands it sends).
    • The smart home hub is much much faster to turn on devices (than previous IR remotes) the IR blaster works like magic.
    • The hub only works on 2.4ghz wireless bands
    • I use it to turn on my Toslink switch, amp, and TV's smart hub all at the click of a button.
    • Support just wouldn't admit my hub was defective
    • While the mobile app gives you complete control (the tablet version is fairly elaborate), the included remote gives you a regular control optionWhile each hub is limited to 8 devices, there's no limit on IoT items like smart plugs and bulbs.
    • On the other hand, adding a hub was very easy
    • I placed the Hub on top of the cable-box and it works great!
    • I will say that if the setup for Alexa is anything like setting up the hub, it's not worth the hassle.
    • AWESOME remote system, my second hub
    • Just press the remote button, and the hub does the work of contacting the relevant equipment.
    • This is because Logitech wants their hub to be "smart" by knowing when the TV is on or off, but this fails when the TV (or whatever other appliance) is turned on via another method (e.g. remote control).
    • The hub removes that nonsense
    • I'm sure this hub is great for most home users, which is why I'm giving it two stars instead of one.
    • The hub and included mini blaster work perfectly to control all my devices, and the included remote is exceptional.
    • I love it, I use the Hub more than the physical remote (it gathering dust somewhere)
    • The hub sits in my cabinet with the components and never misses a command
    • When you work the remote (change channel, volume, input, etc), the hub sends data to the mini-IR blaster, which sends IR signal to the devices.
    • I'd fault the sensitivity of the $10 switch rather than the Smart Hub
    • First thing to understand is that the remote ONLY talks to the Smart Hub, not your individual devices themselves.
    • Love the HUB, Hate the remote.
    • both the Hub and the remote have met my expectations or exceeded them.
    • The Smart Control hub, using IR, Bluetooth and wi-fi, not only brought everything together again, but added the convenience of phone apps (Apple and Android)
    • I'd need to put the blasters all over, as the hub is in a wood entertainment center with components on shelves above and below it, and the TV is hung on the wall far above.
    • Hub works perfectly
    • the Harmony Smart Hub worked 20% of the time, if that
    • Since it works off wi-fi, there's no need to point the included remote (or your Android or Apple device) directly at your components - the hub does all the work.
    • So far so good with this awesome remote and smart hub
    • The Smart Hub and IR blaster is what's actually talking to your devices
    • If the Simple remote had similarly backlit buttons, I probably would have kept the Smart Control hub in spite of my other objections/issues.
    • All my electronics have been awesome with the exception of this Dissonant Harmony hub.
    • This Logiitech Harmony (w/ Hub) is a tank and the heart of smart home control, also ties into my other automated apps and processes
    • But I wish I could use the IR-output of the Harmony hub to allow my more general smart hub (SmartThings) to be able to reliably turn on/off the TV room light.
    • This hub is very buggy
    • I've gone through all of the troubleshooting steps and Logitech has no answer, even after months of trying to work with them in the forums (http://forums.logitech.com/t5/Harmony-Hub-Based-Remotes/Smart-hub-losing-connection-with-iOS-App/m-p/1045469#M3170)
    • Had to order a second IR blaster for about $10 (first blaster is included, the hub can support two IR blasters) to cover all these devices, YMMV.Cons-1
    • Turns out, the REAL value is in the Smart Hub
    • The Hub was easy to configure and link to my Google Home.
    • You swipe up, or tap the button up to move or change the channel and the delay is a good 2 seconds or more!Basically how it works is you can put the "Smart Hub" somewhere either out of sight in a cabinet, or you can display it if you want, then you plug in the RF transmitter which is a little dongle on a 6ft cable
    • you don't mind taking the time to set up a Logitech remote system, then this is a great remote hub if you have multiple devices in your entertainment center
    • The hub is not real sensitive to placement, I actually have mine behind my components and the IR signal simply bounces off the opposite wall, at the speed of light of course
    • Hub works well with Amazon Echo.
    • The Hub is designed to work with your smart phone though so if you don't want to use your phone i would not get this unless you get the ultimate version which comes with the advanced full function remote that basically does what the phone app does
    • The Hub totally eliminates this problem as the line-of-sight components are always stationary
    • You can buy the hub without the remote, but I recommend getting the remote, too--just for the convenience of it
    • so I feel like it has to be the Smart Hub
    • The MyHarmony setup even copied all of the settings over from an older remote (truly awesome!).I stand by my 5 star rating and highly recommend the Harmony Hub and associated remotes.
    • This approach combining a simple SMART Remote control and hub where you can add your own phones/pad to the mix is a perfect blend for the modern household
    • The remote has a IR emitter as well, but my hub handles the job fine, so ironically pointing is no longer required
    • The remote shown, the all important hub, 1 additional IR blaster, and the power supply.
    • Another improvement is the "hub," which sends the IR signals to your devices instead of your remote sending them.
    • The smart hub eliminates that because the IR blasters are right next to your equipment and you have a lot more programming and resolution options
    • The hub acts like a bluetooth keyboard and can be paired with PCs.
    • I pushed down the little door (cunningly hidden at the remote's bottom), popped in the new battery, and voila -- the hub and remote are happily working together again.
    • had I located the hub outside the cabinet and placed the IR blaster inside it, but it would have spoiled the uncluttered look, and I still would have needed to hide the IR blaster wiring.
    • The "Smart" hub sort of works okay.
    • I love the RF Hub.
    • In another room, I put all devices behind the TV, and put the hub there as well
    • My new hub is in an enclosed entertainment center and actually works flawlessly
    • It’s easy to forget that this hub will not enhance the capabilities of your current devices (IR devices will always require line-of-sight to function)
    • If you have multiples, you just need to be sure you picked the right hub when trying to control the TV through your phone.
    • Having had Harmony Smart Remotes before, I was skeptical of one with a non-rechargeable battery, but since this is just a dumb remote for the smart hub, it has a great battery life (I forget when I changed it but more than 2 years.)
    • However, it had not trouble setting up the new hub as a second hub, even though both hubs are on the same Wi-Fi network.
    • The hub frequently loses connection and randomly fails to control previously setup devices.
    • However, the physical remote & hub are awesome, so I'll hold onto it.
    • Really easy to setup - just plug the hub into your USB port on your PC and run the software.
    • I purchased a refurbished Hub and have had not regrets.
    • I'm lucky so far in that the Hub and accompanying remote have worked just fine without any tweaking needed.
    • I love this remote and hub
    • Smart Hub has a feature that "remembers" the last state of a device that it controlled (for instance, it knows if the receiver is on or off and what input it is set to).
    • Alexa integration now is freaking sweet (although more than one hub per account would be nice).
    • The hub is great
    • The hub is awesome, it lets me connect my Direct TV and Apple TV to Alexa
    • The hub works with your WiFi network and or Bluetooth and the included remote communicates the hub with RF so no more having to hold your remote or phone directly in the line of sight of your products
    • Very limited for the money, sure you get the hub for basically free, but this doesn't do much if the remote is dead or you don't have any other Logitech products
    • The hub eliminates that issue completely
    • Hub is great and works with Alexa.
    • Every single other device in that room connects fine without issue (including a Vizio Smart TV, Roku Ultra, PS4, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, Steam Link, Amazon Alexa, and a TP-Link Smart Bulb), but when the Harmony Hub is directly connected to my router, it is unable to hold a stable connection, constantly either dropping inputs or requiring a power cycle to reconnect to the WiFi
    • Still have to use multiple remotes to operate the electronics b/c this one fails most of the time
