Logitech Harmony Smart Control with Smartphone App and Simple All In One Remote - Black

    • The smart phone app is a real disappointment!!!!
    • The phone is generally much easier so start with it, but it lacks some more detailed features so you will want to also have the computer version handy
    • Too late to return it since the 30 day expired while my phone was broken.
    • You can control the box with the included remote or your smart phone
    • You can do most of the programming (if not all) right on your own smart phone.
    • 3 a decent phone or tablet, while the app isn't taxing, I could see running it on an old crappy phone being really annoying
    • I loved my previous harmony remote, but I wanted the coolness and convenience of configuring it with my smart phone
    • I have to bust out my phone
    • I only wish Logitech would abandon the smart phone idea and devote their time to perfecting this remote
    • First we'll start with the Smart Phone App.
    • Due to this, I tend to ignore the Smart Phone App unless I run into the problem with the supplied Logitech Remote as described below
    • It is a simple remote and to add to all this it comes with a smart phone
    • Using the smart phone requires a few changes that you may have to get used to.
    • The smart phone apt works, but once again, it is not quite right
    • The smart phone apt works, but once again, it is not quite right
    • I purchased this because my kids love to misplace the remotes in the living room, now I can use my phone
    • With the Fire TV, I can add the Harmony Hub as a "Harmony Keyboard" [other bluetooth device] as required in the documentation, but there is no control of the FireTV at all after the device connects -- neither the virtual phone remote nor the voice commands work even after deleting the activity and recreating it several times
    • If you didn't have your phone, the little remote works well, but you would have to remember some of the buttons and the multiple functions that each button can manage
    • goes.1--Be sure your phone is connected to the same WiFi network to which you will connect the remote's hub.2-Turn on your phone's bluetooth and make sure no other devices are connected.3-Download the Harmony App to your smart phone and start the app.
    • and I was unable to control it either through the remote or through the app on my smart phone
    • Being able to use our smart phones when the remote goes missing is great, but pulling up the app can take a lot of
    • Also nice for times when we lose a remote (I don't have as much problems losing my phone).
    • I do have the smart phone app installed, but it all just works so well with the simple remote, I haven't used the smartphone app for anything besides the setup, which I found to be far easier and quicker than using the computer, which is how all previous harmony remote setups were done
    • It is easy to fix with the smart phone remote
    • It's practically as thin as a smart phone but much, much lighter and with a nice curve to it and a pleasant grippy texture on the underside and bottom
    • Overall very positive experience, took about 20 minutes to set up, and I didn't have to run up & down stairs - programmed it all using my smart phone :-)
    • The phone app can control more but who wants to use their phone as a remote?Setup took a few hours as I had some challenges (more below) but I finally realized I could call Logitech for free (first 30 days) and my main issue was quickly resolved - great phone service!I use this to control:Sony AV receiver (speaker volume & mute)
    • Works as advertised even without a smart phone
    • And once you've set it up, it automatically saves and transfers your settings to the main remote and quickly to any other smart phone you want to add
    • Smart phone interface is pretty well designed
    • Plenty of options with tablets, smart phones, and the remote that comes with it
    • your smart phone(s) which is great as a backup when you can't find the main remote
    • Terrible app-based phone setup.
    • great product it has some glitches ,but easy fixable, works great with hub and smart phone can control your devices as well can control only up to 6 devices.
    • Turn on the tv with your original remote and try to use the smart phone app or the remote; it thinks your tv is off
    • I like the smart phone
    • I will be returning the "extra" remote but will probably continue to keep the HUB for the smart phone control and limited Alexa support
    • I have noticed that it drains my phone's battery a lot quicker though
    • I found setup quite easy (tip do it all through the smart phone app and then it will sync automatically to your myharmony software on your PC)
    • Constantly dropping availability on the smart phone app (BLUETOOTH REQUIREMENT AND WIFI REQUiREMENT CLASH).
    • If you need to tweak some device, you can do it using your smart phone.
    • Set up is very easy by entering the serial numbers of your devices and it automatically handles getting the signal to your devices right, and all from your smart phone so you don't have to plug the main remote into anything
    • Hence having to pull out the smart phone, wait for it to connect and press that button to get whatever you wanted done accomplished
    • Although it says you can do this through your smart phone, I would recommend you do it using your desktop for the initial setup.
    • your smart phone that doubles as a remote
    • Harmony Smart Control is a major evolution of the original Harmony universal remotes and takes it to a new level with WIFI, Bluetooth, home automation and smart phone integration
    • I can use this remote, my smart phone, or my Alexa to control the TV
    • I honestly did not think I would like using my phone as a remote, but to my surprise the interface and integration is perfect
    • Using the smart phone app requires that you are logged in.
    • After power cycling the hub I was again able to connect to it with both my smart phone and the remote and was able to continue configuring my devices
    • The available, free smart phone App is well laid out; works just as well as the button remote; and gives you more functions
    • You HAVE to set it to a static IP address or you will never be able to connect with your smart phone.
    • I now no longer get angry phone calls (while away on business) that the TV wont turn on.
    • The smart phone communicates with the hub via your wireless internet router.
    • Setup assumes you have a smart phone and advises you to get the Harmony app.
    • Being able to use our smart phones when the remote goes missing is great, but pulling up the app can take a lot of
    • Its pretty bad when an app breaks your 700 dollar phone
    • Easier to set up using the computer as opposed to a smart phone.
    • The Smart Phone App is just "OK" due to the limitations imposed by soft keys instead of the real thing.
    • You'll end up having to shine your cell phone onto the remote keys to see them
    • It's much better on a pad than on a phone (space limitations) but not a problem until you go into advanced functions
    • I was okay with that, because the I could use my Smart Phone for additional activities like gaming, or Roku, or switching to the bluetooth input on my receiver
    • Once setup the smart phone app and simple controller work well
    • Once setup the smart phone app and simple controller work well
    • Remote is terrible moves everything to quick...the phone remote works well and fixed issues ... wouldn’t recommend
    • 3 a decent phone or tablet, while the app isn't taxing, I could see running it on an old crappy phone being really annoying
    • And the best part is that you can use your smart phone as well.
    • The phone is generally much easier so start with it, but it lacks some more detailed features so you will want to also have the computer version handy
    • With help from a friend with a smart phone, I was able to get the remote working with my Amazon Fire TV.
    • This hooked up perfectly with all my devices and set up was a breeze using my phone
    • The Hub is designed to work with your smart phone though so if you don't want to use your phone i would not get this unless you get the ultimate version which comes with the advanced full function remote that basically does what the phone app does
    • App drains android phone quickly9
    • I like being able to use my smart phone and tablet to control it as well.
    • We love the fact that our phones do all the work for us now
    • Guess I should use my smart phone at those times
    • In order to pair to the FireTV you must use the app from your smart phone.
    • Then tell your smart phone app what the static IP address is and, hopefully, the app will connect quickly every time from then on
    • Most of the strange buttons on the real remotes can be found on the smart phone so I am getting out the old remotes less often
    • So, if you're okay using multiple screens on a smart phone to control your device - you'll probably be fine.
    • You can set up the entire thing from your smart phone or tablet using the free Harmony app
    • Alternatively you could use a smart phone or tablet as your remote control
    • I have not setup my smart phone - the unit's remote does all I need
    • If you have patience and a complicated home stereo, your smart phone and this remote are great.
    • i really have no use for the smart phone app, other than the occasional tinkering on it for fun (now that it works)
    • but if you pair this combination with your smart phone you have basically the same thing
    • I love that I can use any smart phone and ipad as my remote
    • I actually use it more than my smart phone for basic TV and DVR viewing.
    • Then tell your smart phone app what the static IP address is and, viola, it works every time you try and connect
    • I really wanted it to work, I really liked the smart phone app
    • Smart phone control is nice, but it's hard to beat a dedicated easy to use remote
    • (All of this is done in the smart phone app.
    • Also, this will work fro any Android device be it a smart phone or tablet
    • Easy to program without the need of a computer by using your smart phone or pad
    • Very easy to set up either through web site or smart phone app.
    • But other than that i have been using my phone and i love it
    • If I click 'watch tv' and it doesn't change the right input or sound, I have to break out my phone and use the phone app to fix things.
    • If you're looking for a good, physical remote that also offers smart phone capabilities... look elsewhere.
    • The whole use your phone as a remote is not even possible because in order to do that the app needs to connect to the hub and no matter what I do the app fails to find the hub
