Pointer freezes, middle button doesn't work sporadically, back/forward buttons hard to find by feel

With this mouse the pointer is so jumpy that it takes too long to click the buttons

Frequently gets flaky (pointer doesn't move or jumps around) and I have to take out then replace same batteries, move receiver to different USB port, and generally fuss around until it magically starts to work again

I am used to having on my PC.For example, the ability to turn off fine pointer control, and to turn off acceleration

After 7 months of using, the pointer began to shake and could not capture anything as I pressed the button

So I noticed this annoying pointer lag whenever I first move the mouse, after not using it for a few seconds

It's when the pointer is set to slow, it's too slow, and fiddling with the acceleration settings doesn't really help.
