  • it is essentially the bigger brother of the Fast Track MKII with an added XLR/TRS Combo input on the front and 1/4" line ins/outs on the back.this interface can be used with a wide range of recording software or "DAW's"FREE versions of PRO TOOLS called "PRO TOOLS SE" or the latest "PRO TOOLS First" software for Windows & Mac can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website(AVID) or you can use it with a wide range of other programs such as Audacity, Fruity Loops, Sony Acid, Cubase, Reaper, etc. if you are more comfortable.
  • Sometimes I can simply restart the track from the beginning and it will work.

  • sound.the mic pres and A/D converters are pretty good for the price and if your starting a small home/podcast or mobile studio this is a good small lightweight interface. if you only need the 1 input and basic RCA outputs i would suggest getting the smaller FAST TRACK.

Reviews around sound (5.00 of 5)

  • Running a guitar or a mic through it, it sounded great (like I said earlier, a very rich warm, "full" sound), but the minute I'd record over another track I'd lose the ability to hear playback
  • No malfunction, quite great sound, suitable for beginners just like me!Thank for selling in this cheap price!Have a great day

  • The product offers a free version of Pro-Tool SE, unfortunately Pro-tools SE has many issues and doesn't run on windows 7

Reviews around level (5.00 of 5)

  • There are little lights for each channel to let you know when the levels are too high as well
  • 4 knobs on the top control line levels and volume, +48v switch power for microphones if needed

Reviews around result (5.00 of 5)

  • I've been using the previous version of the MobilePre with both Garageband and Logic Express and have had great results.
  • But I've gotten equally good results from Cubase
  • I'm still demoing it, but it works fine with the Scarlett unit, and it's given me great results so far

Reviews around experience (5.00 of 5)

  • I've had better experiences with other programs in the past such as Cool Edit, Cubase, Cakewalk, and others
  • I have always had good experiences with M-Audio products
  • This experience is unlike other USB audio interfaces I've had before where I just popped the thing in and it worked

Reviews around interface (4.42 of 5)

  • sound.the mic pres and A/D converters are pretty good for the price and if your starting a small home/podcast or mobile studio this is a good small lightweight interface.
  • its coo, it couldve had pro tools le instead of se though, but overall its a cool interface and a great price.
  • The M-Audio MobilePre is a great little audio interface.
  • An interface too expensive, and offers little besides having latency issues, it is a purchase of repentance me completely
  • The Pre Mobile might be a good interface for people using it with other tracking software, but expect lots of problems if you are looking at this as a one stop recording solution.

Reviews around quality (4.03 of 5)

  • Quality is terrible
  • I just want something to plug into the computer and record my ideas and that gave me a pretty decent quality
  • I want something that works, gives me good quality, and something that doesn't make me hunt all over the internet for drivers
  • 24 bit, 48k is not necessarily better than CD quality because all recordings have to be dithered down to 16 bit
  • The MobilePre allowed me to set up a home studio at low cost that turns out great sound quality

  • I've used several other M audio/ Mbox products, this one works as well as the more expensive units.

  • Other than the disappointment with Pro Tools, the unit is great and I would recommend it.
