sound.the mic pres and A/D converters are pretty good for the price and if your starting a small home/podcast or mobile studio this is a good small lightweight interface. if you only need the 1 input and basic RCA outputs i would suggest getting the smaller FAST TRACK.

Running a guitar or a mic through it, it sounded great (like I said earlier, a very rich warm, "full" sound), but the minute I'd record over another track I'd lose the ability to hear playback

The product offers a free version of Pro-Tool SE, unfortunately Pro-tools SE has many issues and doesn't run on windows 7

There are little lights for each channel to let you know when the levels are too high as well

I've been using the previous version of the MobilePre with both Garageband and Logic Express and have had great results.

But I've gotten equally good results from Cubase

I'm still demoing it, but it works fine with the Scarlett unit, and it's given me great results so far

I've had better experiences with other programs in the past such as Cool Edit, Cubase, Cakewalk, and others

I have always had good experiences with M-Audio products

This experience is unlike other USB audio interfaces I've had before where I just popped the thing in and it worked

The M-Audio MobilePre is a great little audio interface.

An interface too expensive, and offers little besides having latency issues, it is a purchase of repentance me completely

The Pre Mobile might be a good interface for people using it with other tracking software, but expect lots of problems if you are looking at this as a one stop recording solution.

Quality is terrible

I just want something to plug into the computer and record my ideas and that gave me a pretty decent quality

I want something that works, gives me good quality, and something that doesn't make me hunt all over the internet for drivers

24 bit, 48k is not necessarily better than CD quality because all recordings have to be dithered down to 16 bit

The MobilePre allowed me to set up a home studio at low cost that turns out great sound quality
